Actor Pedro Pascal is leaving the galaxy far, far away and returning to planet Earth!

Pedro Pascal Trades 'Star Wars' For CNN Nature Docuseries!
As THR reported, the "Game of Thrones" alum has been tapped to lead CNN's new nature docuseries, called "Patagonia: Life on the Edge of the World." The series is scheduled to debut on Sunday, July 10 at 9 PM EST.
"The Bubble" actor will narrate the six-part docuseries, which has been compared to the popular nature series "Planet Earth." The series will explore the Patagonia region of South America, including Chile and Argentina. Pascal seems a natural fit to lead the series, as he was born in Chile.
The series was reportedly filmed over the span of one year and will feature many of the beautiful landscapes and exotic animals that the location is known for. It will also spend time focusing on the scientists who study its ecosystem and the people who inhabit the region.
“I have great memories of taking trips to Patagonia and exploring some of the beautiful places depicted in the series,” Pascal explained. “I am excited to bring my voice to the project and share this special part of the world with North American audiences.”
Pascal joins a growing list of celebrities to lead CNN original series after their CNN+ streaming service shuttered after only one month. "The Hunger Games" actor Stanley Tucci starred in "Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy." Meanwhile, actress Eva Longoria has her own spin-off show that will take place in Mexico.
"Patagonia" was announced over a year ago, but CNN waited until a month before its release to reveal the premiere date and narrator. The news outlet has recently been absorbed by Warner Bros. Discovery, so it's possible that fans of nature docuseries can look forward to more of this content in the future if "Patagonia" does well.
New episodes will air on CNN every Sunday at 9 PM. It will join what new CNN CEO Chris Licht is calling the “CNN Sunday” programming block, which will also include an interview series led by Chris Wallace. CNN Sunday will also reportedly include long-form journalism series featuring various CNN correspondents.
Pascal Dishes On A Possible 'The Mandalorian' Movie!
At the 2022 Star Wars Celebration fan event, the “Wonder Woman: 1984” star sat down with Variety to talk about the possibility of turning “The Mandalorian” series into a feature film.
Although he doesn’t have any idea if “The Mandalorian” really will be turned into a movie, he pondered if it was “inevitable” given its massive success.
“That’s a good question,” he said. “Don’t you think it’s inevitable?”
“I personally... I have no idea, but that would be a dream come true,” he added. “Not that any more dreams could possibly come true! Maybe I’ve had my fill.”
Pedro Pascal plays the titular Mandalorian, Din Djarin. The third series of the show will debut in February 2023 on Disney+. Although many of the plot details are still under wraps, Pascal said it was “special” being a part of the galaxy far, far away, no matter what the future holds for his character.
“Yeah, and seeing just the trailer on a big screen like that, the way it envelops you and takes you back,” he said. “At the same time, it is beyond special to be able to kind of have the intimate experience that we do have with these chapters of Mandalorian and everything, its expanded universe, everything that is to come, everything that has just started as far as Obi-Wan Kenobi.”
“And we’re figuring it out,” he continued. “It must be amazing for you to kind of just see different ways of, like… seeing the entertainment industry evolve in so many new and different ways. I love going to the movies, I’ve gone back, going back and just being able to be with an audience again is one of the most important things to me.”
He added, “If it happens with The Mandalorian, all I can say is… please.”
Season 3 of “The Mandalorian” returns to Disney+ in February.
