Actor Jason Momoa and his new girlfriend Eiza González are over just as fast as their relationship started.
A source told PEOPLE that Momoa, 42, and González, 32, had been dating since February, although the romance rumors were only confirmed last month.
A source told the publication that “they’re just very different people” when pressed on a reason for the split.
Jason Momoa & Eiza González’s Relationship Has Come To An End
Back in May, another insider told PEOPLE that the couple was “exclusive” and started dating in February “after meeting through work and mutual connections.”
At the time, the insider said “it’s not a very serious situation” and indicated that the “Dune” actor was “just seeing where it goes.” They added that Momoa and the “Ambulance” actress were “spending time together when they can and making it work between their two busy work schedules.”
The source said that González and Momoa “share the same spirit,” and described González as a “very fun, down-for-anything type person and is pretty adventurous for the most part.” Momoa was spotted at the premiere of her Michael Bay film “Ambulance” in April but they did not walk the red carpet together.
The insider added that she is “more of a long-term relationship person than a casual dater” and that Momoa is “a really good guy.” They described the “Aquaman” actor as “very generous” and “happy all the time,” adding that he is “all about love and spreading love.”
The source said that Momoa was “not going to rush into anything quickly” for the sake of the children. Momoa shares 14-year-old daughter Lola and 13-year-old son Nakoa-Wolf with his ex-wife, Lisa Bonet.
The source said that he “had a lot of love for Lisa and there is still a lot of mutual respect there as far as she’s concerned.”
Momoa And Lisa Bonet Called Off Their Relationship Back In January
In January, Momoa, 42, and Bonet, 54, announced in a joint statement on Instagram that they were “parting ways in marriage” after almost five years together.
In the statement, they wrote, “The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other to be who we are learning to become.”
“Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life ... teaching our children what's possible. Living the Prayer. May Love Prevail J & L,” the statement concluded.
At the time, a source told PEOPLE that both Momoa and Bonet wanted out of the relationship to leave them free to “explore other things.” The insider noted that they still care “deeply about each other.” However, they also added that the couple has “been doing things separate for quite a while.”
Earlier this year, Momoa continued to show support for his stepdaughter, Zoë Kravitz, at the premiere of “The Batman,” in which she plays Catwoman opposite Robert Pattinson‘s Batman. Momoa is also still friends with her father, Lenny Kravitz, as the two have shared several friendly snaps on Instagram together.
Although fans are looking forward to seeing Jason Momoa in the “Aquaman” sequel scheduled to be released next year, Momoa has also been tapped to star in the “Minecraft” live-action movie.
