Simone Ashley Answers 'Bridgerton' Season 3 Fan Questions

Actress Simone Ashley is teasing what fans can expect from the third season of the Netflix series "Bridgerton."

In an interview with IMDb, Simone answered several questions from fans. One fan asked what her favorite behind-the-scenes moment was with actor Jonathan Bailey, who plays her love interest, Viscount Anthony Bridgerton.

“Um, I can’t nail it down to one,” Simone replied. “But Johnny would make me laugh all the time. Any moment with Johnny, we were just giggling all the time. Yeah, those were definitely my favorite moments.”

Another fan asked what her favorite outfit of the season was.

“This light blue dress that Kate wears in the beginning of episode four, when she’s having a really awkward tea with Edwina and Anthony in the garden,” she answered. “I love that color and I love that dress.”

When asked who would win a staring contest in real life, Simone replied, “Wow, that’s such a good question. I think I would. No, we both would… but I would.”

When asked what show she is currently binge-watching, Simone said that she just started watching – and has yet to finish – the Netflix series “Inventing Anna.” Simone added, “I think Julia Garner’s performance is phenomenal in that show. I think she’s wonderful and the whole cast and the show as a collective is just really, really cool. So that’s what I’m watching at the moment.”

Another fan asked how it felt to be a South Asian lead in a major show. “I’m so proud to be a part of this moment and a part of this movement,” she explained. “It’s so important that we’re seeing this and that we’re doing this and I hope we continue to share this space and open up opportunities for other dark-skinned women.”

When asked if any of her “Sex Education” costars could star in “Bridgerton” (or vice versa), Simone replied, “Ncuti Gatwa would be amazing in ‘Bridgerton.’ I mean, he’s amazing in anything, but I would love to see him in ‘Bridgerton.’” Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem that Ncuti will have time for “Bridgerton,” as BBC announced back in May that he’s been tapped to star as the 14th incarnation of Doctor Who.

Simone added that Jonathan Bailey “would be amazing” in “Sex Education.”

When asked again about her favorite scene, Simone decided to pick the horse-riding scene in Windsor Park. “It was my favorite memory filming, but I also just love the first dance between Kate and Anthony in episode 4. It moves me every time I watch it. It was just one of the best days filming it and working with Johnny and our amazing choreographer… yeah, it was a very beautiful moment.”

When asked what she hopes to see in store for Kate and Anthony in season 3, Simone said, “Well, I’m excited to see Kate become viscountess and head of the household and I think she has much to learn from Anthony and they’ll be two little partners, doing it together.”

“I’d love to see them have a baby,” she added. “Yeah, to put it simply. Maybe it will happen, maybe it won’t, but hopefully, it will.”

Believe it or not, that's not the first time that it has come up. Jonathan Bailey had also previously teased the possibility that Kate and Anthony will become parents in season 3.

Although the next season will focus on the love story between Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington, fans can't wait to see more scenes between Kate and Anthony, considering they are now the heads of the Bridgerton household.

Season 3 begins filming in London this summer.
