Jennifer Lopez is the recipient of this year's Generation Award!
The multi-hyphenate entertainer, best known for her remarkable dance moves, chart-topping songs, and iconic roles in movies, recently added a new title to her impressive list of achievements.
On Sunday, June 5, the Pop culture idol attended the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards, held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, where she received the lifetime achievement award.
Jennifer Lopez Gives A Special Shout-out To Her Fiancé In Emotional Acceptance Speech
In honor of Lopez's latest accomplishment, the event's organizers shared a video of the icon's unique acceptance speech on Twitter, which left the singer in tears.
For the special night, the honoree stepped out in a daring all-black Mônot gown designed with a zipper vest-inspired leather bodice, a plunging neckline, side cut-outs, and an asymmetric skirt, accentuating J.Lo's voluptuous curves.
The mother-of-two had her shoulder-length hair styled in graceful waves and completed the sophisticated ensemble with dazzling cube-shaped earrings, a diamond-studded necklace, and a matching studded bracelet.
Taking to the stage in all her glory, "The Boy Next Door" actress began her acceptance speech by first thanking her colleagues, noting how blessed she was to work with such "wonderful people."
The "Dance Again" singer claimed that a person was only as good as the people they worked with, stating that she has been lucky to meet good co-workers who helped her improve as an actress.
The Billboard chart-topper explained that parts of her were inside each character she played, as a person could not "create truth" without living through it.

On that note, the Latin native revealed that she had a different kind of thank-you list to share, kicking things off by expressing her gratitude to everyone who supports or criticizes her. The 52-year-old said:
"I want to thank all the people who gave me this life. I want to thank the people who gave me joy. And the ones who broke my heart. The ones who were true and the ones who lied to me."
The "Hustlers" star also thanked "true love" and how she previously lied to herself because that was the only way the Hollywood heartthrob knew how to grow.
The renowned entertainer's list included thank-yous to "disappointment and failure" for giving her strength and her children, 14-year-old twins Maximilian and Emme, for teaching their mother how to love.
The "Selena" star, whose successful career has spanned over three decades, had a powerful message for her haters. While fighting back the tears, the triple threat performer said:
"I want to thank all the people who told me to my face or when I wasn’t in the room that I couldn’t do this. I really don’t think I could have done it without you!"
The "All I Have" artist honored her fans with the sweetest message, describing them as the reason for winning the prestigious award and the fuel that kept her passion burning.
The multi-hyphenate star also sang her manager Benny Medina's praises, noting that he was "the true meaning of ride or die."
The memorable acceptance speech concluded with a special shout-out to the "Second Act" actress's fiancé, Ben Affleck, who watched from home that Sunday night.
"And Ben and everybody at home, wait for me to have dinner. I'll be home by seven," Lopez gushed before exiting the stage, followed by the sound of heartwarming cheers.
The Billboard Icon Award Winner Got Engaged To Ben Affleck For The Second Time
As previously reported by The Blast, the "Maid in Manhattan" actress and three-time Golden Globe Award winner were preparing to tie the knot after getting engaged for the second time.
The Hollywood power couple, affectionately dubbed as "Bennifer" by fans, were initially engaged in 2002 and almost walked down the aisle before breaking up.
Following the end of their love story, the pair married other partners with whom they had children. However, as fate would have it, Bennifer returned in 2021.
A year later, the "Monster-In-Law" star announced her engagement to the "Justice League" actor via a short video shared on Facebook, which received mixed reactions from fans.
Several people happily congratulated the lovebirds, while others hoped this engagement would finally take the beloved entertainers to the altar.
