Betty White’s ‘Golden Palace’ is gone!
The late-actress’ longtime Los Angeles home located in the Brentwood area has sold.
What’s more, the home sold over asking price after hitting the market a month ago. The home where she passed away on December 31 at the age of 99 sold for an astonishing $10.68 million.
SOLD!
The home, which boasts five-bedrooms, six-bathrooms, a swimming pool and has views of the Getty Museum and Hollywood sign, was originally listed for $10.57 million.
The home is located at 506 N Carmelina Ave.
According to TMZ, several offers were made on the home. The buyer of the property is unknown, but the outlet notes it’s not another celebrity.
The ‘Golden Girls’ star lived in the lavish home from 1968, when she and her late husband Allen Ludden bought it, until her passing in 2021.
Betty's Home Sold Over Asking Price
Betty’s property was being sold by Marlene Okulick of Sotheby's International Realty – Pacific Palisades Brokerage.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the former couple bought the home for its proximity to the studios in Hollywood.
Allen was a TV personality while Betty was an actress.
A spokesperson for the state shared with WSJ that the two-story home includes a sunroom where the actress reportedly enjoyed the view of the yard, which features flower-filled garden beds, old growth trees and a swimming pool.
Betty Shared The Home With The Love Of Her Life, Allen Ludden
"Betty White was a California girl through and through," the star's estate told WSJ. "Despite living in New York when she and Allen Ludden were first married, she longed to be 'back home' in Los Angeles where she grew up."
The Sothesby listing states, “This property with huge parklike grounds, views of the Getty Museum and mountains has been lovingly cared for. Gated and set back from the street on over 3/4 of an acre, the setting is peaceful with flower filled gardens and old growth trees. This is the first time the property is on the market in over 50 years. This is a unique opportunity to build your dream home on a flat lot in a serene country setting. The property is being sold for land value. There will be no interior access of the home. All showings are of the exterior only. Shown by appointment only to financially qualified Buyers.”
The same day her home went on the market, Betty’s bungalow in Carmel, CA. sold for $3 million over asking price.
The Blast reported of the “For Sale” sign in front of her beach property.
Betty and her beloved husband, Allen Ludden, built the three-story water-front property in the 1980s. Unfortunately, Ludden passed away shortly after it was completed.
Nicole Truszkowski of Truszkowski Freedman & Associates, Sotheby's International Realty - Carmel Brokerage, who holds the listing alongside Zak Freedman, told People, “The home embodies the spirit of Betty and Allen. It was eloquently understated with the focus on nature and the natural beauty surrounding the home.”
Betty's Bungalow Was Her Special Sanctuary
Betty considered this property her “special sanctuary.”
Truszkowski added, “Spending time in Carmel was one of Betty's favorite things to do. She enjoyed many treasured moments with her family and close friends.”
Betty’s former beach house is 3,600-square-feet and features four bedrooms with four and a half bathrooms.
Clearly, everybody wants a piece of the Betty White pie!
