Everyone rejoice and get T.P for your bungholes as the lovable buffoons, Beavis and Butt-Head are returning with a new movie that will be shown on Paramount+ on June 23rd.
And to get us all even more excited, the official trailer has dropped for us all to see! Uhhh huh huh huh huh…, we said dropped!
Beavis And Butt-Head Do The Universe
Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe is the sequel that we have always wanted and now thanks to Paramount+, we are finally getting it. The last time we saw the world’s most famous morons on film was in 1996 for the Beavis and Butt-Head Do America movie, a movie that was not only hilarious but financially successful as it made a boatload of cash that to this point has reached over 63 million dollars in box office receipts.
Creator Mike Judge, who is also known for the iconic Office Space film and King of the Hill series returns to his Beavis and Butt-Head roots with the first of many rumored movies and shows with the two characters that changed MTV and the world as we know it. Originally slated for Comedy Central, plans have moved to move the movie and the planned reboot series to Paramount+.
In the trailer, Beavis and Butt-Head are headed to space, and to explain that they are still the same age they seem to find themselves in the future of 2022 in their 1998 bodies dealing with highly intelligent versions of themselves from a parallel universe among many more hijinks that are likely to happen that only this duo can get into.
And if for some reason you aren’t aware of all the hoopla, Paramount+ is going to make you remember with more plans to have Beavis And Butt-Head all over our TVs.
Beavis And Butt-Head’s History Is Paved In Brilliant Stupidity
So how did we actually get here? Though the new film is self-proclaimed the “dumbest science-fiction movie ever made.” The history of Beavis and Butt-Head is based on a series of a pair of teenage slackers voiced by creator Mike Judge who debuted them in 1992 in a short film called, ‘Frog Baseball’ on MTV on their groundbreaking animation show, Liquid Television.
With the popularity that stemmed from there, a full series was picked up that lasted seven seasons that ended in 1997. An eighth season was made in 2011, and now eleven years later, they are back!
Universally known as a satirical masterpiece, the show and the duo have remained popular for years and have gone down as one of the best-animated series of all time. Paramount + hopes that continue with their plans for the upcoming series which we will all see more on this weekend as MTV will debut footage at the MTV Movie and TV Awards on Sunday, June 5th.
For a duo that often doesn’t score, at least their fans will score with all that is upcoming from Mike Judge’s creation. And to add to it all, the complete original series will also be released along with other Beavis And Butt-Head content that we can’t wait to get our hands-on. But for the time being, let us all enjoy the latest trailer.
