Sam Asghari Says He & Britney Spears Could Live Off $60 Per Day!

Sam Asghari may be engaged to one of the most popular pop stars in the world, but that’s not making him stray from his humble beginnings.

The fitness trainer proposed to Britney Spears last September with a round four-karat stone in a platinum cathedral setting enhanced with a floating solitaire design.

He had “Lioness,” Britney’s nickname, engraved on the inside of the ring.

All-in-all he spent around $70,000.00 on the ring, but his weekly purchases are a far cry from this large chunk of change.

In a new interview with GQ, the fiancé of Britney explained that his upbringing in Iran taught him how to be frugal.

When asked what he does during his day-to-day, Sam responded, “I'm not a house husband, I’m a normal person. So I do a lot of shopping because sometimes I require specific things when it comes to diet.”

If you live in Los Angeles, don’t ever expect to run into him at upscale grocery store Erewhon.

“I don't want to spend $200 on something that I can buy for $60,” he told the outlet. “I am careful with money because I do want to build a future for my children. If you came to this country, you came with a purpose. You don't come here to goof around.”

And if you thought $60 on food was a lot or a little, here’s the catch.

“I live off of lettuce and rice and coffee. That comes out to like $16 a day so I can take care of that myself,” he explained.

But let’s not forget, he’s engaged to a multi-MILLIONAIRE who can afford quite a lot of things.

Good news Britney stans… he’s not reliant on her for money or an allowance.

The couple is very much like your average couple. They take turns picking up the bill for dinner and they don’t have a joint bank account.

“We do travel a lot and I am dating a girl that's very expensive; she has an expensive taste but I do try to incorporate my lifestyle to her as well, and if it was up to me, we would cut down on the traveling and stay at a much cheaper hotel, and we would probably live off of $60 a day,” Sam admitted. “Because that’s what I can afford.”

Sam and Brit met on the set of her music video for “Slumber Party” six years ago.

The budding actor gushed about his future wife and her “humbleness.”

“It was the humbleness that attracted me. She was very humble and she had a beautiful soul,” he revealed.

Remember the ring mentioned earlier in this article, well he also dished on that and how her engagement ring came to be.

He convinced his sisters and friends to help him pick out the perfect ring for the “Lucky” singer.

“I figured with her taste, she wouldn't want something super big and super celebrity. Celebrities get that million-dollar ring. And usually, it's free because it's for promotion, but I want it to represent something,” he explained. “I want it to come from my heart and I want it to go to someone that wasn't a big jeweler. It was a big company but it was a company that was willing to do it the way that I wanted it. So, I designed a really beautiful ring. It's a princess cut, for a real-life princess.”

At the time of their proposal, Britney believed she was getting a puppy from Sam… not an engagement ring.

Their wedding date is set, but no other details have been leaked or made public about their big day!
