“I didn’t expect so many people to reach out to me and let me know how they’re doing and let me know about their own mental health struggles,” she went on. “It’s really made me feel less alone and I hope that it offers some comfort to the people out there too that are struggling with their mental health.”

She thanked her doctors, nurses, and the staff that assisted her. “I want to say thank you to everyone that follows me. Everyone at ‘Bridgerton’ has been so lovely and so kind and at Shondaland – thank you.”

“I can’t wait for the future,” she continued. “I’m doing okay for myself. I’m sat in a beautiful environment right now, just taking a bit of time for myself to relax and breathe. I feel close to nature. Getting outdoors, going for walks, speaking to loved ones… trying not to ostracize yourself, that’s a really big step. If I have any advice for my younger self, I would just tell myself, ‘Listen. It’s not all doom and gloom, even when you hit rock bottom.’”

“I don’t want anyone to be scared of going into a mental hospital,” she added. “There’s funny stuff in life all the time and sometimes you just have to find the funny and open yourself to that.”

She named Claudia Jessie, who plays Eloise Bridgerton on the Netflix period drama. Ruby said that Claudia told her “To flip the coin. It might be dull on one side, but just flip the coin and it’s shiny on the other.”

Ruby talked about “training your mind” to find the “funny, to find the light, to find the positive.” She said it was a really hard thing to do, but the more you practiced it, the better it would be.

“I just want everyone to feel good, I want everyone to feel good, and held, and heard,” she concluded. “To anyone that’s going through a dark place right now, I just want you to know I see you.” She encouraged her followers to “flip the coin” and “find the funny.”
