Eva Longoria Gets 'Wisteria Lane' Vibes While In France

American actress Eva Longoria was recently reminded of the famed 'Wisteria Lane' from the television drama series "Desperate Housewives" that ended a decade ago.

As you may know, 'Wisteria Lane' refers to the fictional street used in the ABC show, and the series' storyline centered on the residents of the lane.

The street seems unforgettable to Longoria as her latest trip to France brought back memories of the "Desperate Housewives" era when she garnered universal fame with her role as Gabrielle Solis.

The Texas-born director updated her Instagram Story with a video post that had 'Wisteria Lane' written on it and showed her walking on a pathway surrounded by vegetation in what appeared to be France.

Longoria could be seen wearing a dark tee shirt and matching sunglasses with her hair packed into a ponytail beneath a black baseball cap.

The clip also gave a full view of the green space with the movie star saying, "In the south of France and all of this is Wisteria, Wisteria Lane y'all, Wisteria Lane."  

The social media update comes months after Longoria expressed her desire for a reboot of "Desperate Housewives" during an appearance on "GoodDay New York."

As E! reported, the "The Young and the Restless" star promised to be the first to "sign up" as she would already be on Wisteria Lane, showing her eagerness.

She revealed that the show's producer Marc Cherry was not so drawn to the reboot idea as he believed he had "fully explored" the characters.

Longoria further stated that Cherry wondered what the characters would be doing in the renewed series, and she jokingly added, "Plus, I'm 100 years old, so I don't know if anyone cares."

"Desperate Housewives" ran for eight seasons from 2004 to 2012 and featured fellow stars Felicity Huffman, Teri Hatcher, Brenda Strong, Marcia Cross, and Nicolette Sheridan.

The castmates have reunited over the years, including a get-together between Hatcher and James Denton last December for Hallmark's "A Kiss Before Christmas."

Other co-stars have also been up to quite a few involving several productions and maintaining their relevance in the entertainment industry.

Regarding Longoria's activities timeline since the conclusion of "Desperate Housewives," she was cast in a few films like "Lowriders," "Overboard," "Dora and the City of Lost Gold," and the short-lived "Telenovela."  

The 47-year-old also produced Cherry's "Desperate Housewives" spin-off series "Devious Maids" on Lifetime and the brief ABC show "Grand Hotel."

She did not stop there but went on to begin her successful directing career, generating episodes of several more series, including "Jane the Virgin," "Black-ish," and "The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia."

Longoria is a vocal activist, a hardworking entrepreneur with her own clothing line, and a founding member of Time's Up.

She is also a proud mother to her only child Santiago "Santi" Enrique Bastón, whom she birthed in 2018.

"The Sentinel" star shares her bundle of joy with José Antonio "Pepe" Bastón, the president of the Latin American media company Televisa whom she wedded in 2016.

Longoria is a pretty supportive friend who previously backed "Desperate Housewives" co-star Felicity Huffman as she was charged in an "exam cheating scandal."

As The Blast reported in 2019, the "Frontera" actress wrote a touching letter to the judge, making the world aware of Huffman's involvement in "charities supporting minorities."

She wrote how the defendant had her back when she began her career in Hollywood, particularly on the "Desperate Housewives."

Longoria confessed that Huffman's gestures "meant the world" to her then as a "young, naïve Mexican girl" who felt like she did not belong.

She further commended the fellow ABC star for regularly volunteering with her Latino charities, helping the bi-racial actress with kids with cancer or special needs when no one else would show up.

Longoria stressed that Huffman did not have to do the work, but she wanted to even though the charities were mainly for youngsters of the Latino community.

She added that most times, the "Desperate Housewives" star would be the "only white woman" in the room assisting with improving lives which she promised never to forget.

Her heartfelt letter ended with, "She always leads with her heart and has always put others first. This is why I still call her my friend today and always. Thank you for your time."
