Since her rise to fame in “16 And Pregnant” in 2010 with her then-boyfriend Jo Rivera, she went on to join “Teen Mom2,” which explored how she juggled life with her boys and co-parenting with their respective fathers.
However, despite all she’s faced, Lowry is now closing this chapter in her life. She announced her departure from “Teen Mom” during the reunion of the series.
Read on for the details and information on her prospects.
Kailyn Lowry: ‘It Was Time For Me To Move On’
During the Tuesday reunion of “Teen Mom2,” Lowry disclosed that she was leaving the series. However, she mentioned that her departure wasn’t due to disinterest.
“I think I need to move on,” she added. “I think I need to do my own thing. I think this needs to be my farewell. I think I’m ready.”
While appearing on E!News Daily Pop, she explained the actual reason for her departure from the MTV series.
“I want to focus on my self-growth and my kids and I didn’t feel like the show aligned with the goals that I have anymore,” she explained to the outlet. “I decided it was time for me to move on.”
She joined the show in 2011 following her departure from “16 and pregnant,” which she joined in the second season.
She’s the mother of four sons–Isaac, Lincoln, Lux, and Creed– whom she co-parents with ex Jo Rivera, ex Javi Marroquin, and Chris Lopez, respectively.
She also mentioned that she joked with the producers about having her spinoff.
“I joked to the producers that if you guys want to give me my own show, I would be willing to tell you all about my new relationship and what we’re planning and working on together,” she concluded.
Before her big reveal, she appeared to address the matter of her departure after a fan indicated that they were never going to watch “Teen Mom” if Lowry left. An account which identified as the star’s responded that she wasn’t returning.
“I am done!” the account added, per People. “I declined the new show, TMFR, & girls night in.”
She Had Previously Slammed MTV After They Allowed Her Baby Daddy On The Show
After discovering that her third baby daddy, Lopez, would be joining “Teen Mom2” online, she slammed the network, claiming that it was disrespectful.
She shared this during an Instagram Q&A session with her fans, where she requested that her fans ask her questions and added that she was going to reply to the best ones.
A follower then asked if she felt upset that Lopez was signed on the show to which she replied, “I don’t give one single f–k what Chris does. I care about how it was handled/how I found out and the lack of respect people have for me after 12 years of doing this show.”
Before this, she had taken to her Instagram to debunk rumors that she was upset about Lopez’s addition. She claimed that she didn’t give a sh*t that he signed a contract with the show.
“Hi guys, just wanted to come on here really quickly to let you guys know that I’m not upset about anything and I can’t be upset about something and quoted about something that I had no idea about. So number one, whoever is quoting me and selling this stuff to the tabloids you guys are insane, I don’t give a s–t, and number two, I can’t be upset about something that I didn’t even know about until it came out that I was upset,” she concluded per The Sun.
She Has Not Had The Best Experiences With Her Exes
Although she has had tumultuous experiences with her exes which made rounds and headlines over the years, Lowry explained that these experiences were a learning curve for her.
“I know I get a lot of backlash for some of the choices that I make,” she said on Daily Pop. “But I’m just so open about the things that I do and the mistakes that I’ve made that I feel good about using my mistakes as an open line of communication with my kids. If they have a question about something, we can explain it, we can talk about it.”
Kailyn Lowry Is Excited About Her New Chapter
Lowry expressed her excitement about entering a new chapter in her life. The reality star also claimed that it was an avenue to strengthen the bond with her boyfriend, whose identity she’s yet to reveal.
“It’s refreshing to have someone who just fully supports what I want to do and where I want to be.”
She also added that she was focused on being the best mom for her kids regardless of what life throws at her.
“I can’t keep most of my appointments and all of the end of the year school activities under control right now,” Lowry said. “It’s honestly fun and I don’t know what I would do without the chaos.”
She would also continue to focus on her three podcasts: “Baby Mama No Drama,” “Barely Famous,” and “Coffee Convos.”
