Lawsuits against Houston-born rapper Travis Scott continue to pour in as a 2019 Music Festival attendee is bringing over a million dollars suit against the artist.
The claimant asserted that she’s suing the rapper for inciting the crowd and ultimately causing a stampede during a concert that was held in Miami.
The legal debacle comes months after ten people died at Scott’s 2021 Astroworld concert.
Travis Scott Gets Slammed With Another Lawsuit By An Attendee At His 2019 Event
According to PEOPLE, in the complaint filed by Marchelle Love on May 10, there’s a claim that the people at the Rolling Loud Festival began panicking “as a direct and proximate result” of Scott’s encouragement.
That action led to Love getting hurt. Love’s suit explains that the day before Rolling Loud began as there was already panic and “multiple stampedes” amongst attendees due to a false report of an active shooter.
The complaint claims that the “Sicko Mode” rapper should have known of the stampedes happening during his set as he had a responsibility to avoid taking actions that would further incite the crowd.
Although Scott came on stage around 11 p.m., law enforcement arrived at the scene shortly and asked him to stop playing as the crowd had become “dangerous and uncontrollable.”
In the complaint, Love notes that despite getting “ordered by the authorities to cease his continued incitement of the crowd, Travis Scott continued to verbally and physically incite the crowd to engage in hazardous activities.”
Love’s lawyer adds that the songwriter’s involvement in the complaint comes on the heels of alleged video evidence and testimony recovered after the incident. The concertgoer wants a trial by jury and a payday of more than $30,000.

The 2019 incident resembles the occurrence of another unfortunate incident during the rapper’s November 2021 Astroworld concert.
Fans would recall that the 30-year-old was performing on stage when trouble broke out in the crowd. Scott was accused of continuing his performance even as the crowd spiraled out of control and became more violent.
Media outlets later revealed that several people had gotten injured, and ten people, including a 9-year-old boy, lost their lives.
The Blast shared that the official coroner’s report stated that all ten victims died due to “compression asphyxia” – death from getting suffocated by the pressure from the crowd.
As earlier reported, many victims got rushed to nearby local hospitals after collapsing inside the concert.
Amongst the many lawsuits filed against the 31-year-old was one by Shanazia Williamson. The wrongful death lawsuit alleged that Williamson was “trampled and crushed” during the concert.
Filed in Texas, Williamson’s court papers also claimed that she experienced difficulty breathing, “chest pain,” and “injuries to other parts of her body.”
In December 2021, Williamson and her husband altered the court document to show that her injuries resulted in the demise of their unborn baby.
According to Texan law, an “individual” includes an unborn child at every stage of gestation from fertilization until birth. That law made it possible for Williamson and her man to sue for wrongful death.

Amid the sad tales trailing Scott’s career, the rap star remains focused on making life easier for those around him.
The Blast disclosed that Scott donated 1 million dollars towards ensuring that black college students graduate. The mouth-watering deal will be awarded to 100 students who are on the way to graduating this year.
To enjoy the $10,000 benefit, the selected students have to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA with no outstanding financial issues that could cause a problem later.
Luckily, the chosen students will be able to collect their cheques at the end of the school year. Two of the students who got shortlisted for the scholarship include Florida A&M University pharmacy major Nisha Encarnacion and Chisom Okwor.
Although Scott’s Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund handles all scholarship-related occurrences, education isn’t the foundation’s only focus.
Scott will be giving $5 million towards providing free mental health programs for at-risk children. The record producer also intends to grow his creative design program through his Cactus Jack initiative.
Since the Astroworld incident, the “Pick Up the Phone” rapper has begun allocating money towards making his fans feel safe at his and other artists’ concerts.
