After hinting that she might be retiring soon, it'd appear that Selena Gomez still has one more album in her.
The actress recently disclosed that she was working on a new album on a podcast. This comes after her highly anticipated debut Spanish-English EP, "Revelación" in 2021 and "Rare" album in 2020.
She also disclosed that she had plans to go on a tour for her new album, although she didn't specify the time or the date.
Read on to learn more of the disclosure from the "Only Murderers In The Building" actress and other intricate details.
'I Am In L.A. Working On My Album Now'
Gomez disclosed that she is currently working on her new album in her podcast interview.
"I just finished Season 4 of my cooking show [Selena + Chef], and I am in L.A. working on my album now," the singer said to Deadline's "Crew Call" Podcast.
She also hinted that a tour could follow its release, although she didn't highlight any specifics.
"I am open to a tour, 1,000 percent," she said. "But I obviously have obligations and things that I want to do, so, when the time is right. It's not at the top of my priority list."
Before this, Gomez released "Revelación" in March 2021 and "Rare" in 2020. She was also featured in Coldplay's "Let Somebody Go" in October 2021.
She also appeared in a live performance of the same song on "The Late Late Show With James Corden."
She Received A Grammy Nomination For 'Revelación'
The "Revelación" EP, which Tainy produced in 2021, earned Gomez her first Grammy nod for Best Latin Pop Album at the 2022 Grammy awards.
"I cried like a little baby. I was very excited," Gomez told Entertainment Tonight of her nomination. "I worked really hard on that project, so it was a lovely surprise. I am very excited!"
Before this, she had an interview with Vogue about the seven-track EP, adding that it paid homage to her Latina roots and was a gift to her massive fanbase in Latin America.
"The project is really an homage to my heritage," Gomez told Vogue, adding, "It is a Sasha Fierce moment, for sure."
She continued, "A lot of my fan base is Latin, and I've been telling them this album was going to happen for years. But the fact that it is coming out during this specific time is really cool."
While it was very easy for her to sing in Spanish, she sometimes had to stop recording because she frequently got frustrated.
"There's a lot of slang that I need to learn," she began. "Spanish changes generationally as well as [geographically]. Sometimes I was like, 'Wait! Hang on! I need to understand!'"
She concluded, "There would be moments where I would end the [recording] session because I would get so frustrated. Not just trying to create an album from my basement but making it sound authentic. That is something that requires meticulous care. But now, I think I actually sound better in Spanish than I do in English."
She Once Hinted At Retiring
In 2021, the "Wizards Of Waverly Place" alum talked about her career and revealed her prospects concerning her career.
"It's hard to keep doing music when people don't necessarily take you seriously," Gomez began. "I've had moments where I've been like, 'What's the point? Why do I keep doing this?'"
While she spoke about the release of her latest song at the time, "Lose Me To Love Me," calling it the best song she has "ever released," she shared that it was not enough for some people.
"I think there are a lot of people who enjoy my music, and for that, I am so thankful, for that I keep going, but I think the next time I do an album it will be different," she added. "I want to give it one last try before I maybe retire from music."
Selena Gomez Hosted The 'Saturday Night Live' Recently
Gomez recently had her comedy-hosting stint on "Saturday Night Live," bringing the laughs along with her.
She started with a monologue that took a jab at her relationship status to open the show.
"One reason I have been very happy to host is because I am single," Gomez began. "And I have heard SNL is a great place to find romance."
She mentioned that the show had been a precursor for many celebrity romances and hoped to find her significant other on the show, considering that she had no interest in dating apps.
"I just want to put it out into the universe that I'm manifesting love. I would like to say that I'm looking for my soulmate, but at this point I will take anyone," she concluded.
