‘Star Wars’ Fans Wish Frank Oz A Happy 78th Birthday!

Puppeteer Frank Oz is officially 78 years old!

The 6’2” actor, filmmaker, and puppeteer was born on May 25, 1944, in Hereford, United Kingdom. He has four children from his two marriages and has won numerous accolades for his work, including a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Series.

Oz is the puppeteer behind many of the Muppet characters, including Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal, and Sam Eagle. He is also behind Cookie Monster, Bert, and Grover on Sesame Street. That being said, “Star Wars” fans know him for his role as Yoda, both as the puppeteer and providing the voice of Yoda for several Lucasfilm projects.

On Wednesday, fans flocked to social media to wish Oz a happy birthday!

The Star Wars Holocron Twitter account wished him a happy birthday, adding "May the Force Be With You!"

Marshall Julius wished him a happy birthday showing him in a behind-the-scenes photo with Mark Hamill. "When 78 years old you reach, look as good, you might not," he joked in the caption.

The Moisture Farm Star Wars Twitter account also took the time to wish the voice actor and puppeteer of Master Yoda a happy birthday!

Another Star Wars fan account also paid tribute to Oz through another behind-the-scenes photo of him with Yoda.

The Muppet History Twitter account wished him a happy birthday, writing, "The brilliant and hilarious mind behind (or below) Miss Piggy, Cookie Monster, Fozzie Bear, Grover, Yoda, and MANY other beloved characters, as well as being an accomplished director and actor." They added that he "is someone worthy of being called a genius."

Another excited fan wished happy birthday to "the man, the myth, the legend."

Another fan shared a photo of Oz with Jim Henson on the set of "The Muppet Show" in 1980.

Another fan also wished him a happy birthday while sharing photos of him with several Muppets and Sesame Street characters.
