Pornstar Stormy Daniels is officially changing her name following the national scandal involving former President Donald Trump.

According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Stormy's real name is 'Stephanie Gregory Clifford' and is asking a court to legally change it to 'Stormy Daniels Barratt.' In other words, she isn't hiding from the past, instead is leaning into her famous moniker.

In the documents, filed in Los Angeles, Stormy reveals why she is asking for a name change -- saying, "I want to change my name to coincide with my entering into a new chapter in my life."

Shockingly, you would think that after being involved in one of the biggest scandals in U.S. political history -- she might have wanted to change her name to something else.

Unfortunately, the legal filing doesn't reveal any other information about the name change. Stormy claims she is currently living outside of Los Angeles in Granada Hills, CA.

As you know, Stormy shocked the world by claiming she carried on an affair with Donald Trump in 2006. In an interview, Daniels says she met the President at a charity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, and Mr. Trump invited her to dinner and meet him in his hotel room. "He was all sprawled out on the couch, watching television or something," she said. Adding, "He was wearing pajama pants." At some point, she claims the duo had sex, and Trump's legal team "vehemently denies" the allegation.

According to reports, a hush-money style payment was made to the adult actress to keep the scandal private. But, the payments raised questions about them potentially being illegal campaign contributions.

"The payment to Ms. Daniels was lawful, and was not a campaign contribution or a campaign expenditure by anyone," Trump's lawyer said.

Again, it's unclear what "new chapter" Stormy is entering into in her life -- but, it appears she wants to be forever legally known as 'Stormy Daniels.'

The political scandal resulted in several lawsuits, including Stormy suing Trump for defamation. Unfortunately, she lost the case and was ordered to pay his legal fees topping almost $300,000. Following a failed appeal of the decision, Daniels tweeted, "I will go to jail before I pay a penny." Of course, Trump hailed the victory calling it, "a total and complete victory and vindication for, and of me."

As for the case, Stormy issued a statement claiming the defamation suit was filed by her disgraced lawyer Michael Avenatti, "without my permission and against my wishes."

Adding, "Once it was filed, Trump's lawyers overwhelmed Avenatti and I was left the victim of an attorney's fee award."

Avenatti was later found guilty of wire fraud and identity theft for pocketing about $300,000 of the $800,000 advance Daniels was paid for her book, “Full Disclosure.”
