Space flight has become a topic of conversation at many scientific gatherings in recent years. More individuals are displaying interest in going into space to satiate their insatiable thirst for more, from science panels to celebrity red tables to public forums.

As per celebrities, big pocket moguls, such as Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Virgin chief Richard Branson, and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, have led the way in the attempts to get a taste of the space sensation. Others have lined up to do the same. However, actor Sebastian Stan, who previously expressed interest, has since changed his mind, speaking about it in a recent interview.

Sebastian Stan Does Not Trust 'Those Guys'

Last Friday, Stan returned to Stephen Colbert's program "The Late Show" for the first time since 2016. While he talked about a lot of tidbits, including his recent movies, one of the highlights of their conversations was his revelation about not being interested in going to space.

The "Pam & Tommy" star had earlier informed Stephen Colbert during his last appearance that he'd be thrilled to join him on a space trip. Stan, however, withdrew his requests this time, claiming that he does not trust those who were making moves to get people to space.

"I don't know if I trust those guys with my life," Stan told Colbert, referring to Musk, Branson, and the other moguls.

Last year, Branson took part in the first fully crewed mission of Virgin Galactic's VSS Unity space aircraft on Sunday (July 11). This year, the six-passenger, two-pilot space is set to begin full commercial operations if a couple more test flights go as planned.

Bezos Went To Space Last Year

Among the list of celebrities who have been to space, the world's richest man, Bezos is the most recent member of the caucus, having taken an 11-minute supersonic joy flight to space last year atop the rocket and capsule system created by his space company, Blue Origin.

Bezos was joined by his brother, Mark Bezos, alongside Wally Funk, an 82-year-old aviator cum commercial astronaut and the first female air safety investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board. Oliver Daemen, a recent high school graduate, was also on the journey, making history as Blue Origin's first paying passenger when his father, an investor, purchased his ticket.

As for Musk, the business mogul has deposited a $10,000 deposit to reserve a seat on a future suborbital flight on Branson's rocket, a small part of the proposed full ticket price of $250,000. For now, it's still unknown when Musk's trip will take off.

Stan Film Features in 2022

Even though Stan might never get the thrilling experience of going into space, his acting accolades in 2022 have set a precedent for what would most likely be a great year for the actor.

He recently starred in Hulu's historical drama "Pam & Tommy," playing eccentric Tommy Lee, whose sex video with Pamela Anderson became tabloid fodder after it was leaked to the public. Stan also featured as CIA agent Nick Fowler in Simon Kinberg's action thriller "The 355," joining an array of talented cast members, including Penelope Cruz, Jessica Chastain, Fan Bingbing, Lupita Nyong'o, and Diane Kruger.

Another sterling addition to Stan's filmography was the American comedy thriller "Fresh," which centered on a young woman kindling a relationship with an attractive man, only to discover his horrifying true nature.

Stan's Upcoming Film – 'Sharper'

More projects are on the horizon for Stan as the actor is looking to build further on his current repertoire. The actor would be staring in Benjamin Caron's "Sharper," an upcoming American comedy thriller film directed by inspired by a screenplay by Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka that chronicles the adventures of a con artist swindling Manhattan's elites.

Stan will play Max in an undisclosed role and is joined by Julianne Moore, Justice Smith, Briana Middleton, and John Lithgow. Jodie Caron, Erik Feig, Bart Freundlich, Julianne Moore, and Brian Gatewood would serve as producers, while Julia Hammer and Amy Herman with team up to exec-produce the forthcoming film.

"Sharper" is expected to debut in theatres in 2022.
