Wendy Williams Appointed Guardian In Wells Fargo Drama, TV Host Disagrees

The legal war between Wendy Williams and Wells Fargo has taken a mind-blowing turn that is not in the favor of the talk show host.

After months of going after the financial institution which claimed Williams wasn't of sound mind to handle her money and needed a financial guardianship. It seems Wells Fargo's recommendation has been accepted by the law court.

According to Hollywood Reporter, on Thursday, a New York judge finally heard the pleas of Wells Fargo and placed Williams a temporary guardianship.

The temporary guardian is to rule over the show host's finances until July. Per the publication, guardianship was first incorporated in March when the judge decided that it was necessary pending the case.

However, what triggered this week's ruling was "The Wendy Williams Show" host requesting her bank account statements from Wells Fargo in order to switch financial institutions.

Unfortunately, that triggered the bank system and in a petition released in February, Wells Fargo claimed that the television personality was "incapacitated" and was a "victim of undue influence and financial exploitation."

Ever since both parties have been at it, with Williams and her attorney La’Shawn Thomas declaring she was of sound mind and branding Wells Fargo's guardianship request as a manipulative tactic.

In response to Thursday's ruling, Thomas said, "Wendy doesn’t agree with a financial guardian being appointed. If it’s the court’s intention to have one appointed over her affairs for the long haul, she definitely isn’t going to accept that."

In another statement to Page Six, Thomas noted that Williams feels "capable" of hiring a team of advisors who work for her and not the court.

As of now, it is believed that Bernie Young, Williams' former manager who corroborated claims of an unsound mind was appointed as the temporary guardian as he took that position in March.

In March, the former radio personality slammed Young for spending her money recklessly. In the Instagram Live session, Williams alleged that Young used her American Express card to “hire an attorney to file a petition against me.”

"Bernie Young, you’re no good, and this is not fair," Williams blasted the advisor.

The new ruling in the Wells Fargo case comes weeks after the New Jersey native promised the return of "The Wendy Williams Show" and shaded her successor, Sherri Shepherd.

As The Blast reported, during an Instagram Live session with rapper Fat Joe, the 57-year-old opened up about the guest show host rotation that happened while she was away due to health issues.

“I love everyone hosting it. But, if I only had one person, I wish you [Fat Joe] only did that. Always," Williams revealed to the rapper.

She mentioned that when she makes eventual return to television, Fat Jor or Remy Ma would be her preferred replacements whenever she needs to be away from the screens.

When asked if she would tune in to watch Shepherd's new show which is replacing her eponymous talk show, Williams answered, "I like her, but I won’t be watching her because I know what she’s going to be doing and that’s really not my thing. Anyway, but I love being on my own show and I love that people love to watch it all the time."

Shepherd upon hearing Williams' remark, expressed concern and sympathy for her health troubles. In her words:

"I did hear Wendy say she will not watch me on the new show and that’s okay. You know, I understand. I’m not mad at Wendy. She’s [Wendy] going through a lot."

Shepherd urged fans to put Williams in their prayers as she believes no one is "protecting" the "Think Like A Man" star.

In response to Shepherd's comment, Williams shocked fans when she revealed she would like a one-on-one sit down with the comedian.

"I would love the chance to actually speak with Sherri and sit down and meet," the mother-of-one confessed.

Explaining her surprising request, her attorney Thomas said, "Wendy requesting to have a sit down with Sherri to have a meeting of the minds is the perfect solution as she has no ill will or intent."

The lawyer disclosed that the meeting with Shepherd is a strategy to get the beloved Williams back on our screens!
