People Keep Asking If World’s Tallest Dog Is A Horse!

Brittany Davis, a 36-year-old teacher in Fort Worth, Texas, says that Zeus often gets a lot of stares when she brings him around the Dallas Farmer’s Market.

“We counted 68 times once that we heard people say, ‘Whoa, that’s a horse,’” she told the outlet. “It’s kind of a game now.” She mentioned that it doesn’t help that she is only 5’1, which makes Zeus seem even taller.

“The actions and reactions either way are usually pretty extreme,” she continued. “Either people are super excited and they want to come over and take all the pictures and meet him, or they’re superscared and they go to the other side of the street and look at him from very far away.”

Right now, Zeus is only two and a half years old, but is pretty mellow for a dog so young. Brittany said that there's nothing Zeus loves to do more than cuddle with the family, which includes her sons Jamison, 15, and Kingston, 7 months. The family also owns three Australian shepherds: Zeb, Ellie, and Finn.

However, the family has trouble going on walks with all four of their dogs at once.

Brittany told TODAY that “Zeus requires one person to handle him. He actually will stay right with you and he walks really well, but he’s human-sized. He’s huge.”

She continued, “The Australian shepherds have a lot more energy. They’re faster; they’re zippy. They keep up with him OK, but they get tangled under his feet and then it’s chaos.”

Brittany Wants People To Stop Asking If They Can Ride Zeus!

Brittany revealed she gets plenty of questions from curious onlookers about her dog, including “Can I ride him?” and “Does he have a saddle?”

Brittany always replies with one word: “No.”

“He’s not a horse. He’s a dog. And he would not appreciate being ridden at all,” she explained. “Most people obviously say it jokingly, but it’s definitely something we hear multiple times every time we bring him out.”

Other dogs are curious about Zeus too. The world's biggest dog reportedly plays well with smaller dogs, but Brittany said that bigger dogs see him as a threat and often start barking when he draws near.

“He’s not aggressive at all. So when they do try to get in his face, he kind of just sits there,” Brittany explained. “I mean, he’ll growl a little if they really start going after him, but most dogs are fine. We’ve only had a few dogs that have tried to bite him because he’s so big.”

So how does a dog his size stay healthy? Brittany revealed that Zeus eats over twelve cups of food a day. The formula is specifically designed for giant-breed dogs and contains glucosamine supplements to protect his joints.

Brittany added that she works closely with Zeus' veterinarian to make sure he stays healthy and avoids hurting his hips.
