The prequel series for the "Supernatural" series "The Winchesters" and the "Walker" prequel series "Walker: Independence" were finally released by The CW. Although the "Walker" series, starring "Supernatural" alum Jared Padalecki is fairly new, fans who have been watching "Supernatural" since the series began in 2005 have been waiting a long time for a spin-off series.
Two previous "Supernatural" spin-off ideas were unable to take root with the network, which has fans hopeful for the future of the franchise with this new prequel serious, narrated by Jensen Ackles himself.

A lot of people have questions about the new series, which focuses on the love story between the Winchester parents, John and Mary, before they got married. However, in the very first episode of the show, it was revealed that John did not learn about the existence of monsters and demons until his wife died.
So how is it possible that John is hunting monsters and demons with Mary before they even got married? The truth is that no one has an answer to that question until they watch the show, but plenty of fans called it out in the trailer.
“i'm kind of confused i thought john didn't know about mary being a hunter and that john only became a hunter after mary was killed?” one fan asked.
“This is nothing like in Supernatural. John didn't know about monsters until Mary died, or the Men of letters. He thought his father abandon him (when really he was time traveling). They've changed the timeline on this. But I'll give it a try when it airs,” another fan wrote.
“If you wanted to do a prequel it should have been after Mary's death, John learning how to hunt with Bobby and Rufus and have Dean and Sam as kids,” another fan added.
“I believe my worst fears could come true. Unfortunately, the trailer looks like a rip-off from Legacies instead of something from Supernatural,” another fan said, calling out “The Vampire Diaries” spin-off. “And what p---- me off ist that this show retcons everything Supernatural showed is. But I'll at least give the pilot a chance. If I don't like it, at least I'll carry Supernatural in my heart forever.”
However, some fans are looking forward to the new series.
“I feel so emotional seeing this world back, hearing Dean again,” one fan commented. “And it LOOKS right, the atmosphere is right, I see the amber Jensen talked about from the vintage lenses. The new actors are great. Humor and poignancy and darkness. I think this is going to be a great show and an excellent addition to the SPN universe.”
“I love SPN and I am really happy the universe is continuing with some fresh faces,” another wrote. “It also looks like it will be team hunting instead of just John and Mary which I think is a good move. I have questions which I am sure will be answered but this has definitely intrigued me.”
“I wasn't expecting much from this but that was a really good trailer,” another shared. “Looks great, really like the way it's filmed and the humour and emotional beats seem to be there. Will definitely be checking this out.”
'Walker: Independence' Receives A Much More Positive Reception!
Fans seemed much more excited to see the new trailer for the “Walker” prequel, “Walker: Independence.”
“This looks absolutely AWESOME and with Kat at the helm you know it's gonna be insane!!” one fan commented.
“That trailer looks so good! I love that western vibes and cinematography,” another shared. “This Hoyt is so much like our Hoyt from OG Walker. Also seeing Mark Sheppard in this makes me so happy.”
“This looks great!” said another. “I am so excited for it. And Mark Shepherd being in it is just an added bonus! Can't wait for this.”
“This is spectacular! I'm really looking forward to this addition to the Walker legacy!!” another wrote.
Although the reception of “The Winchesters” remains lukewarm, it looks like “Walker: Independence” might be a new favorite among fans!
