During her interview with People at NBC's "Universal Upfront Event," she shared that she was told her career would take a hit once she turned 40.

"What's interesting [is] when I first started in this industry, all I heard was 'When you're 40, you're done,'" she told the outlet. "'You're not gonna work again.' It's horrible. I mean, and I didn't buy into it. But in the back of my head, I was like, 'What the hell am I gonna do?'"

In 2016, she appeared in "The Magician" series, and three years after, she was featured on the Paramount Anthology show "Tell Me A Story." She even appeared alongside Eddie Murphy for "Coming To America."

"When I started along the journey of penning my memoir I had no idea how much of an eye-opening experience it would be," she opened up to People about her intentions to write the Memoir. "I am deeply proud to share my journey as a woman, the struggles, and funny memories with those who have followed me throughout my career in Hollywood."

She concluded, "I hope they come away knowing me a little bit better through the laughter and tears that life has brought my way. If nothing else, they will see that as with everyone, it takes resilience, fortitude and faith to survive and thrive — and I'm still standing!"

This, however, isn't Beauvais' first book. In 2013, she launched a book with another author, "I Am Mixed." She has also written three children's books.
