Amid Bruce Willis' aphasia diagnosis and his retirement from a long-running acting career, his ex-wife Demi Moore showed him support with a touching post.
Willis and Moore tied the knot in 1987 and ended their marriage in 2000. They successfully co-parent three adult daughters, Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah.
The "Brave New World" star recently took to her social media page to herald the Cannes Film Festival with a throwback of her and her former spouse at the event.
Demi Moore Posts Heartwarming Throwback With Ex-Husband Bruce Willis
On Tuesday, May 17, Moore shared an adorable throwback of her and Willis at the Cannes Film premiere of his 90's movie "The Fifth Element" via Instagram.
The "Striptease" actress sported a fitted black dress and coat with patterns of black and red. She finished the look with chandelier earrings, a necklace, and a matching red clutch.
Willis, on the other hand, looked dashing and handsome in a bespoke suit while holding firmly to his then-wife's hand.
The "Blame It on Rio" star captioned the post, "From the Cannes archives, circa 1997." Emma Heming Willis, who tied the knot with the former actor in 2009, was moved by the upload.
Emma, who shares two girls, 10-year-old Mabel and 8-year-old Evelyn, with Willis commented, "All the feels [red hearts emoji] beautiful."
In March The Blast shared that the "Orville" actor was hanging up his acting cape after a successful career and an A-List status.
Willis won two primetime Emmy Awards, two People's Choice awards, a Golden Globe award, and more during his acting career but walked away due to a health debacle.
In an announcement from his family via Rumer's Instagram page, she shared that the Willis patriarch suffers aphasia which negatively impacted his cognitive abilities.
These memory loss issues propelled the "Armageddon" actor to take on numerous poorly received low-budget films before retiring.
The family's statement read that aphasia inhibits a person’s ability to communicate, and due to that, "Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him." The message continued,
This is a challenging time for our family, and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion, and support. We are moving through this as a strong family unit and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you as you do to him.
The message was signed by Emma, Moore, and their children, Rumer, Tallulah, Scout, Mabel, and Evelyn.
Rumer Willis Gushes About Her Parents' Healthy Co-Parenting Style
Despite being exes, there is no estrangement between Moore and Willis, leading to a feeling of immense gratitude from their eldest offspring Rumer.
Last October, The Blast disclosed that the 33-year-old opened up in an interview about her parents' upbeat co-parenting style, saying,
I’m so grateful that we have all really strived to have really deep and meaningful and honest communication. In any relationship… being honest and just really communicating well and having good tools for communication, I think, is so unbelievably important.
The daughter of "The Roast of Bruce Willis" stars expressed that she is full of incredible gratitude that they made such an effort throughout her life that she never felt like she had to "choose between them.”

She continued, “I have a lot of friends who grew up with parents who got divorced at a young age, and I watched their parents, like, pit them against each other or have to choose between holidays."
Rumer noted that though her family dynamic looked different from the usual, she is happy and thankful that Moore and Willis prioritized making sure their kids could have a family.
Despite their divorce, Willis has maintained a friendly relationship with the “Striptease” actress, who has also been amicable with Bruce’s wife, Emma.
The former spouses, Emma, and their kids were quarantined together in Idaho at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rumer said of their time together, “I think it was just amazing to be together and have so much time… Just to be able to really spend quality time and be outside and be in our family home and be not only with my sisters and my mom and their partners but my little sisters and my dad and my stepmom.”
