Ezra Miller Said They Previously Damaged Their Nerves

A new video of Miller's arrest in Hawaii just surfaced. They were seen correcting law enforcement officers who addressed them as "sir." The police bodycam footage, as shared by TMZ, showed the actor being put in the police car by an officer.

While in the car, they expressed some concern over their "nerves" and the possibility of them being damaged. "Please just let me sit with my hands facing out so I don't get nerve damage. I'm a musician, so my nerves on my hands are important to me. Please don't hurt them. Please, I beg of you."

The actor continued to plead with the cops, citing an experience in New Jersey as the reason behind their nerve damage. They continued, "I have nerve damage from police handcuffs from my life in New Jersey. I know you all are not those cops. But please, please do not damage my nerves in my hands again. It would be really, really awful for me."

Miller Asked A Police Officer Not To Call Them 'Sir'

Further on in the footage, one of the officers referred to the 29-year-old as "sir," and Miller was quick to correct him. The actor revealed that they identified as "transgender non-binary," and not using the proper pronouns would be seen as a "hate crime."

"I'm sorry. I'm not a sir; I am transgender non-binary; please do not refer to me as sir," Miller said. The officer responded, saying that he was only trying to be respectful. Miller then told him their preferred pronouns.

The 29-year-old said, "If you fail to do that again, that is an act of intentional bigotry, and it is a technical hate crime according to U.S Federal Law. Please call me they/them/theirs; you can use the term Mx."

The "Fantastic Beasts" actor then reportedly lunged at a man playing darts despite the bar owner's pleas for the actor to calm down. In response to both charges levied against them, Miller pled no contest, and the bail was set at $500. The 29-year-old paid and was released.

The presiding judge dismissed two other charges against the actor "with prejudice." One was a harassment charge from the incident at the bar, and the second was a separate complaint about traffic obstruction. She then ordered the "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" star to stay away from the karaoke bar where the incidents occurred.
