Actor Johnny Depp and ex-wife Amber Heard continue to make headlines as the trial continues.
The couple is facing each other at the Fairfax County Circuit Court. The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor is suing his ex-wife for $50 million over a December 2018 op-ed Heard wrote for the Washington Post where she claims that she is a domestic violence survivor. Although she did not mention Depp by name, he claims that he has lost movie roles due to the “clear implication” that he was the “Aquaman” actress’ abuser. Heard is countersuing for $100 million dollars.
Heard began her testimony on Wednesday morning by describing how they met on the set of "The Rum Diary." She then continued on to explain the first time that Depp allegedly struck her. On Thursday morning, she recalled further allegations of abuse, claiming that he kicked her in front of other people on a plane. On Thursday afternoon, she recalled graphic physical and sexual abuse.
The court went on break for a week and resumed the trial on Monday, May 16. In the morning, Heard insisted that she did not leave the fecal matter on the bed. After lunch, Heard testified that she had lost several scenes in "Aquaman 2" due to speaking out against Johnny Depp. On Monday afternoon, Heard was pressed on her domestic abuse claims and became defensive under cross-examination. On Tuesday morning, several of Heard's apologetic "love notes" were read out loud for the court. On Tuesday afternoon, Heard admitted to hitting Depp in audio clips played for the jury.
Amber Heard Is Asked About The 'Inside Scoop' To Her Divorce
Amber Heard insisted that she never leaked any videos of Johnny Depp. She also states that she was "shocked" when she came out of the courthouse and was met by a crowd of paparazzi. However, Depp's attorney, Camille Vasquez, alleged that she tipped off the paps to get attention surrounding her divorce.
Heard denied that she struck her ex-girlfriend at an airport after an article headline wrote that Heard had allegedly hit her in a public space. Heard insisted that was planted by "Johnny's team" two days after she had filed for divorce.
At that point, Vasquez wrapped her questioning, and Heard's attorney, Elaine Bredehoft, resumed questioning.
When asked what part Depp played in her getting her role in "Aquaman," Heard said that Depp tried to get her fired from the movie, saying that she saw "messages and emails." However, the comments were dismissed as hearsay. After several more sustained objections, Bredehoft decided to end her questioning and Amber Heard was dismissed from the stand.

Producer iO Tillett Wright said he has been friends with Heard for over ten years. He testified first via a pre-recorded video disposition. He said that he was friends with Depp until December 2015, and described him as "friendly" and "magical." However, he noted that "alcohol would bring out a very ugly side of him."
iO recalled Depp being candid with him about his drug use. He said that Depp was "very open with everyone" that Depp was a "heavy user." iO claimed that Depp said it was "exhausting" to become sober, but he did say he would get sober for Heard.
"He didn't want to be," iO added.
iO also said that Depp had brought up concerns of Heard cheating on him with iO, who said that he did not feel that Heard was cheating on him.
At another point, iO claimed that one time Depp said of Heard, "All she's got is her looks."
"She has no talent and when her tits start to sag and her face gets wrinkly, nobody is going to be interested in her for anything, so she better figure out another way to survive," iO claims Depp said to him.
iO called their fights "ugly" and said that Depp admitted to trashing a hotel room in a later conversation after he had proposed. During the actual wedding, iO said that he did not believe that Depp was drinking that day.
After they tied the knot, iO claims that Depp said to him, "We're married, now I can punch her in the face and no one can do anything about it."
iO Claims That He Called 911 After He Heard Amber Heard Screaming
The video of Depp smashing furniture and the ensuing fight was again played for the jury. On February 10, 2016, Heard sent the video in a text message to iO, who said he watched the video at that time.
In May, iO said that he was walking on the street in Brooklyn when Heard called him because Depp was alleging that iO helped Heard "s--- on his pillow." iO recalled that he and Heard both started laughing, which he said "agitated" Depp. He said he heard a "noise and the phone dropped." He then says he heard Depp asking Heard, "You think I f---ing hit you?" He then says he remembered Heard screaming. iO hung up the phone and then called a neighbor to check on the couple. He then called 911 and another friend who lived in L.A.
He recalled Heard becoming "isolated" and "extraordinarily distressed" after the abuse allegations were made public.
Depp said that he had witnessed numerous verbal arguments between the couple and admitted that he had heard Heard being "mean" and "vicious" in what they said to each other.
"Mr. Depp mixed substances constantly and I keep trying to tell you that," iO said, claiming that he saw Depp get "violent" by throwing glasses while he was living in his suite.
