Nick Jonas Gushes About His 'Gift'

Nick Jonas is one happy dad!

The singer paid a visit to TODAY on Monday, May 16, and opened up about fatherhood and his little bundle of love.

Nick and his wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, welcomed their first child together in January.

The famous couple used a surrogate to carry their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas.

“Life is beautiful,” the Jo-bro told Hoda Kotb and Carson Daly. “She's [Malti] a gift and we're just so blessed that she's back home."

The couple’s daughter was in the NICU for four months.

Priyanka and Nick took to Instagram on Mother’s Day, to share the very first pic of their little bundle of joy and also detail the journey it took for her to finally come home.

Malti spent 100 days in the NICU before coming home.

“On this Mother’s Day we can’t help but reflect on these last few months and the rollercoaster we’ve been on, which we now know, so many people have also experienced,” Priyanka wrote on Instagram.

The same statement was echoed by Nick Jonas as well, as the couple wrote, “After 100 plus days in the NICU, our little girl is finally home. Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is. We are overjoyed that our little girl is finally home, and just want to thank every doctor, nurse, and a specialist at Rady Children’s La Jolla and Cedar Sinai, Los Angeles, who were there selflessly every step of the way. Our next chapter begins now, and our baby is truly a badass. Let’s get it MM! Mommy and Daddy love you.”

The MM stands for Malti Marie, the perfect amalgamation of two cultures coming together in a name. Malti is an Indian name and is the Hindi name for the Rangoon creeper flower, and Marie is a nod to Nick’s American roots.

The new father added, “Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers and caretakers out there, but I want to take a minute to say a special Mother’s Day wish to my incredible wife @priyankachopra on her first Mother’s Day.”

He continued to fawn over Priyanka writing, “Babe, you inspire me and every way, and you are taking to this new role with such ease and steadiness. I am so grateful to be on this journey with you. You are already an incredible mother. Happy Mother’s Day. I love you.”

When the singer first announced he was a new dad, the thirst from fans was real!
