Amber Heard Testifies That She Lost 'A Bunch' Of Scenes In 'Aquaman 2'

Actor Johnny Depp and ex-wife Amber Heard continue to make headlines as the trial continues.

The couple is facing each other at the Fairfax County Circuit Court. The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor is suing his ex-wife for $50 million over a December 2018 op-ed Heard wrote for the Washington Post where she claims that she is a domestic violence survivor. Although she did not mention Depp by name, he claims that he has lost movie roles due to the “clear implication” that he was the “Aquaman” actress’ abuser. Heard is countersuing for $100 million dollars.

Heard began her testimony on Wednesday morning by describing how they met on the set of "The Rum Diary." She then continued on to explain the first time that Depp allegedly struck her. On Thursday morning, she recalled further allegations of abuse, claiming that he kicked her in front of other people on a plane. On Thursday afternoon, she recalled graphic physical and sexual abuse.

The court went on break for a week and resumed the trial on Monday, May 16. In the morning, Heard recalled the violence she claims she experienced on the night of her 30th birthday and insists that she did not leave the fecal matter on the bed.

Heard alleged that Depp tried to launch a smear campaign against her and threatened to ruin her career. After playing an audio clip of a conversation between Heard and Depp, Heard tells Depp not to take this to trial. Heard explained that she did not want to take this to trial because she had "years" of "evidence" against him, including text messages and pictures.

"I didn't want this to hurt Johnny," Heard said through tears, professing that she loved him. "I don't want this to hurt Johnny."

In another video, Depp asks Heard if she thinks he is an abuser and she says, "Yes, May, December, and April." Heard said that she was referring to months where allegations of abuse had occurred.

Heard said that she had to "fight" to stay in "Justice League" because it was around the time of the divorce. She said she "showed up to work months early" to fight to keep her job in "Aquaman." She said it was "the most successful DC film by its release" and felt that she was "getting [her] career back" even though she said she took a "major hit" when she filed her DV TRO against Depp.

Heard said that she was the "female lead" of "Aquaman," which came out in December 2018. When asked why she took part in the op-ed, she said that she had just recently become an ambassador for the ACLU and said she wanted to "lend my voice to what I thought was a great cause" which she described as "a conversation about women's issues."

"I was happy to lend my voice, if I could," Heard continued. She denied ever wanting to mention Depp's name in the op-ed. She said her goal with the op-ed was to "lend my voice" to push for legislation "around gender issues." She told the jury "I was happy to weigh in ... I thought I could lend my voice to that conversation."

Heard denied wanting to use the op-ed to boost sales for "Aquaman." She said, "I don't think it works like that."

Heard claims that she was "dropped from campaigns" and is harassed on a "daily basis." She said that the op-ed is "about me, after Johnny, about me, after I escaped my marriage." She said, "The only person who thinks it's about Johnny is Johnny."

"The only one who made it about him, ironically, is Johnny," Heard said.

"Unfortunately, all of this is real," Heard said when a lawyer referred to her allegations as an "abuse hoax." Heard said that the claims were "absurd" because she said she "narrowly lived through this but I survived it." She claims she has "mountains of evidence, mountains of proof... but it won't be good enough for people seeking to make money off Johnny's success."

As for "Aquaman 2," Heard said that she was "given a script, and then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it, that depicted my character and another character ... without giving any spoilers away ... they basically took a bunch out of my role. They ... they just removed a bunch."

Heard continued to say that she's in "so much pain, emotionally," by reliving the trauma of the trial. "It's torture. It's torturous," she said, breaking down into tears. "I want to move with my life. I have a baby. I want to move on. I want him to move on too. I want him to leave me alone."

The trial is now on break as Heard prepares to be cross-examined by Depp's lawyers.
