The hits just keep on coming for Travis Scott.
The November “Astroworld Festival” continues to haunt the rapper.
On November, 5, Travis held his “Astroworld Festival” in his home town of Houston, TX. Sadly, things took a tragic turn as the sun set and darkness took over the night sky.
Ten innocent lives were taken and hundreds of others fell victim to the chaos that ensued.
The 10 causalities were caused by “compression asphyxia.”
The Deadly Astroworld Festival Continues To Haunt Travis Scott
According to the official coroner’s report, all ten victims of the terrible tragedy died due to being suffocated by the pressure from the surging crowd. All of the victim’s official cause of death is listed as “compression asphyxia.” As you know, many of them were rushed to local hospitals after collapsing inside the concert.
Following the festival, Travis was hit with multiple lawsuits with some seeking BILLIONS in damages.
Now, a new victim of the festival has filed an entirely new lawsuit against the “SICKOMODE” rap star.
A female concertgoer at the November melee suffered a miscarriage after the festival. She filed a wrongful death lawsuit.
Travis Scott Has New Lawsuit Against Him!
In court documents obtained by Page Six, Shanazia Williamson of Montgomery County, Ohio, alleged in court documents that she was “trampled and crushed” during the concert earlier that month, resulting in “serious injuries.”
She filed the lawsuit in November 2021.
Williamson alleges she experienced “trouble breathing,” “chest pain,” “left leg pain” and “injuries to other parts of her body.”
The lawsuit was amended in December 2021 in which Williamson and her husband claim the “horrific injuries” sustained resulted in “the death of her a Jarawd’s unborn child.”
According to the law in Texas — where the lawsuit was filed since the festival took place in Houston — an “individual” includes an unborn child at every stage of gestation from fertilization until birth, which is why Williamson and Owens were able to sue for wrongful death even though their child had not yet been born.
The lawsuit also stated, “Defendants’ failure to plan, design, manage, operate, staff and supervise the event was a direct and proximate cause of Shanazia’s injuries and death of her and Jarawd’s unborn child.”
In the aftermath of her miscarriage, Williamson suffered “physical pain, suffering, mental anguish, emotional distress, discomfort, personal injury and ultimately the death of her and Jarawd’s unborn child.”
It also mentioned a list of future damages, including “loss of enjoyment of life.”
The couple is suing for more than $1 million.
According to the outlet, Travis’ rep declined to comment about the new lawsuit.
Despite Multiple Setbacks, Travis Made A Return To Performing
Last weekend, the rapper made a triumphant return to performing at the Formula One Grand Prix.
He performed at exclusive Miami hotspot E11even on Saturday, May 7.
Before storming the stage, he threw a wad of cash into the crowd while holding onto a bottle of Don Julio1942 tequila.
After taking the stage, he yelled into the crowd, “Everyone owes me a shot!”
He proceeded to call up all the strippers to the stage.
“We need every stripper to report to the f**king stage right now. We need every bottle reported to this mother**kin floor,” Page Six reported.
Travis performed “Antidote,” “Highest in the Room,” “Pick Up The Phone,” “Goosebumps,” and “SICKOMODE.”
A source told the outlet, “The crowd was singing every word to his songs.”
He took over E11even’s stage around 3:30 AM EST and performed for 45 minutes.
