Sophie Turner is getting candid about her past mental health struggles.
The “Game of Thrones” actress recently appeared on the Met Gala red carpet rocking her baby bump alongside her hubby, Joe Jonas.
Sophie is pregnant with her second child! The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Willa, in July 2020.

However, before finding love with a Jonas brother and becoming a mother, the British actress had some horrible demons she was fighting off.
In a new interview with Elle, the ‘Staircase’ actress opened up about her past struggles with an eating disorder.
Sophie Turner Opens Up About Her Eating Disorder
Sadly, her eating disorder was so severe that she had to hire a live-in therapist or a “companion” to help monitor her “unhealthy” habits.
Sophie is the June cover star for the lifestyle magazine.
She explained to journalist Lottie Lumsden what a “companion” is defined as.
“It’s a live-in therapist, who would ensure I wasn’t doing anything unhealthy with my eating habits,” she said.
Like many people, the actress has a “love-hate relationship with social media” given its power to become triggering, a place of negativity and self-hatred.
Social Media Is Very Triggering For Sophie's Eating Disorder
Social media often times made Sophie “spiral” and in turn would “trigger” her eating disorder.
“One night, I was playing over and over in my mind a comment I’d seen on Instagram,” Sophie admitted. “I was like, ‘I’m so fat, I’m so undesirable,’ and spinning out.”
She has 14.8 million followers on the platform.
After mentioning this, her companion stepped in to help combat the “unhealthy thought.”
"You're Not That Important" Is The Best Thing Sophie's Been Told
Sophie’s companion told her, “’You know, no one actually cares. I know you think this, but nobody else is thinking it. You’re not that important.”’
As harsh as this may sound, it was exactly what she needed to hear.
Sophie said, “That was the best thing to anyone could have ever told me.”
At the end of the day, Sophie is human after all, and social media still has a way of making her “incredibly anxious.”
She tries to “distance” herself from it and has even gone to great lengths such as deleting the app from her phone.
Selena Gomez famously deleted the app from her phone and only allows her team to post for her.
“Having it off my phone has been so helpful,” she told Elle. “Now, if I do have to go on it, it’s for a few minutes once or twice a week, rather than hours every day. It’s made such a difference.”
Her advice, “Live real life, it’s much more fun.”
Sophie still goes to therapy for her eating disorder, and will “occasionally” attend a retreat to “check” herself.
She admitted, “I still have days when I feel depressed or anxious. It’s manageable now…I have the tools. I know what’s good for me and what’s not good for me. I know what I have to do to get myself in a good headspace.”

Sophie credits her husband for saving her life.
In an interview with The Sunday Times Magazine, she admitted she was “very mentally unwell” when she met Jonas at age 20. She credited him with helping her get better.
Sophie Says Joe Jonas Helped Save Her Life
“He was, like, ‘I can’t be with you until you love yourself, I can’t see you love me more than you love yourself.’ That was something, him doing that,” she told the publication.
“I think he kind of saved my life, in a way,” Sophie revealed.
