Actor Jared Padalecki was in a terrible car accident late last month in Austin, Texas.
TMZ obtained the accident report, revealing that “Supernatural” co-star Jensen Ackles was right when he said that Jared was “so lucky to be alive.”

Jensen told audiences at a fan convention in New Jersey that Jared was not the driver of the vehicle. The driver is believed to be his cousin, Jeremy Padalecki. The accident report shows that Padalecki was one of four people inside a Tesla. The car jumped a concrete wall on a left turn and smashed into a steel utility pole.
Police officers believe that the car had been speeding around the corner, which caused it to fly over the retaining wall. The Texas Department of Transportation has issued a speeding fine against the driver, but no other citations.
US Magazine obtained footage from the fan convention where Jensen provided fans with early updates about Jared’s health in late April.
“I miss my buddy,” Jensen told the cheering crowd, adding that Jared “sends his love. I spoke with him yesterday. He’s sad he can’t be here.”
“He was in a very bad car accident,” Jensen explained. “He wasn’t driving. He was in the passenger seat, and he’s lucky to be alive.” Fortunately, the “Boys” actor told the audience that no one had lost their life in the crash.
“He’s at home recovering, which — the fact that he’s not even in the hospital right now is, like, blowing my mind because I saw the car,” he added.
“That airbag packs a punch,” Jensen explained. “He’s like, ‘I feel like I went 12 rounds with Tyson.’ But he is doing OK, and he’s moving around. But yeah, [it was a] really, really bad car accident. Just keep him in your thoughts, send him some love if you get a chance on social and he’ll be back with us soon.”
