Wendy Williams Makes Rare Glammed Up Appearance At Met Gala After Party With A Date

Wendy Williams seems to be gradually making a comeback to the limelight with her latest appearance at the after party of the 2022 Met Gala.

The annual fundraising event was held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, while the afterparty occurred at The Standard Hotel in New York City.

Numerous celebrities and aspiring stars graced the event, including "The Wendy Williams Show," ex-host who surprisingly showed up at the ceremony with a date.

According to Jason Lee's latest update on Instagram, Williams graced the Met Gala after-party with the gossip blogger by her side. As you may know, Lee is the CEO of the pop culture news platform Hollywood Unlocked.

The clip began with Lee saying, "Yo, we came to New York for the Met Gala, but I wasn't gonna come outside without the sexiest date in New York City."

The clip then revealed Williams' delighted face with a popping pink lipstick and a black bunny headwear adorning her blond tresses.

She also donned a multi-colored dress adorned with stripes and completed her great look with a pair of matching colorful sneakers.

The video further showed the "L.A Confidential" star asking Williams her trademark phrase, "how you doing?" and she comically replied with the exact words. They both laughed as Lee concluded the clip by saying, "bye."

In the caption to his thousands of fans, the blogger wrote, "How YOU doing cause we ouuuusssiiidddeee. Say hi to my date so I can show her the love! #METGALA."

Lee also tagged both of Williams' official pages, @wendyshow, and @therealwendywilliamsonline, to the post.

Fans happily expressed their love for the presenter and commended her beautiful looks. A fan noted that she looked lovely and stated that it was good to see her while appreciating Lee for making sure of that.

Another gushed, "Omg, Jason I'm so glad to see Ms. Williams she looks beautiful and you look sooooooo debonair darling."

The supporters' love and relief to see the daytime talk show host was warranted as she had previously taken a break from media attention for some months now due to current health issues and financial struggles.

Furthermore, her talk show "The Wendy Williams Show" was announced earlier in February that it would be coming to an end and another presenter would be taking over the program.

After stepping away from the spotlight last October with a farewell to her show "The Wendy Williams Show," Williams hopes to return to screens as she makes plans to resolve her pending issues.

As The Blast reported last month, she was seen having dinner in New York with a group of friends whom she told she was ready for a "big comeback on TV" and sorting her money problems with Wells Fargo.

Her companions included onscreen sensation Baruch Shemtov, her niece Alex Finnie, and Finnie's partner Eric Houston, who all dined with her at Fresco by Scotto.

An eavesdropper told Page Six of the outing, "Wendy was talking to Baruch about her situation with Wells Fargo, and she confidently said 'I'm getting my money back very soon.'"

Another informant told the outlet that the 57-year-old broadcaster was ready to get back to work while adding that she looked great.

The spy said, "When you hear her [Wendy] talk… anyone who's known her for years knows they're getting a Wendy who's ready to work. She's really in good form."

Her appearance at the dining spot did not go unnoticed, as she was noted to have looked "vibrant" compared to how she previously looked in a wheelchair.

Sources also observed that the former radio DJ had no help walking about or getting into her vehicle. She was indeed a different person with evident high spirits.

Her discussion with her buddies came as no surprise as she previously hinted at her return in a puzzling statement to fans.

At the time, Williams was preparing for a court hearing which seemed to be related to her battles with Wells Fargo.

Williams and the financial institution have been at it for a while now since Fargo declared she was of an "unsound mind" to oversee her finances, leading to their demand for guardianship over her financial resources.

The Northeastern University alum denied all allegations about her mental wellbeing and has since been demanding access to her frozen assets.
