Depp and Heard are facing off at the Fairfax County Circuit Court. The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor is suing his ex-wife for $50 million over a December 2018 op-ed Heard wrote for the Washington Post where she claims that she is a domestic violence survivor.

Although she did not mention Depp by name, he claims that he has lost movie roles due to the “clear implication” that he was the “Aquaman” actress’ abuser. Heard is countersuing for $100 million dollars.

When talking about the trial, Barrymore told Anderson, “It’s, like, one layer of crazy — it’s a seven-layer dip of insanity.”

The “Kangaroo Jack” actor replied, “It’s truly amazing just to sit back and read the transcripts of what they’ve done to each other!”

Barrymore has been closely following the trial at the end of every day.

“How about the burnt body? And why the Honda civic?,” she said.

The Honda Civic is a reference to a text message Depp sent a friend in which he hoped his ex-wife’s “rotting corpse was decomposing in the f**king trunk of a Honda Civic.”

Barrymore is absolutely fascinated by the trial and explained, “I know these are two people’s real lives and I know what it’s like to have your life put out in public. I understand all the feelings, but they are actually offering up this information.”

Fans Slam Drew For Making Light Of Johnny's Trauma

“ANOTHER CELEB SHOWING THEIR TRUE COLORS. DREW BARRYMORE. MAKING JOKES ABOUT JOHNNY DEPP, HIS ABUSE FROM AMBER. I USED TO LOVE HER. PEOPLE SHOULD MAKE JOKES OF HER CHILDHOOD AND DRUG ABUSE AND SEE HOW HILARIOUS THAT WILL BE. THIS TRIAL BRINGS OUT THE HIPOCRATES. #JusticeForJohnny,” one critic tweeted.

Drew Barrymore & Anthony Anderson are Trash people who went after Johnny Depp,” another wrote.

This unamused viewer commented, I need Drew Barrymore to join Ellen Degeneres and James Corden and have her talk show canceled. She does not deserve a platform if she is going to make fun of domestic abuse and male victims. #JusticeForJohnnyDepp#JohnnyDeppAmberHeardTrial.”

Another echoed that sentiment tweeting, “Drew Barrymore making jokes about Johnny Depp, then people wonder why men don't speak out about abuse, people make it a joke......at least Barrymore is getting backlash.”

The actress got wind of the backlash and issued an apology on Instagram.
