The "Star Wars" Skywalker Saga has come to an end, culminating in the polarizing sequel trilogy. While some fans loved it and other fans despised it, no one can deny that it influenced the careers of many of its stars.
Here's a brief look at just a few of the sequel trilogy actors and where they're at now.
Daisy Ridley Trades 'Star Wars' For Voice Acting
After starring as Rey in the sequel trilogy, Daisy Ridley went on to have several voice roles in 2020, including the “Baba Yaga” short, the “Asteroid Hunters” animated short, and the “Twelve Minutes” video game in 2021. She also lent her voice to the podcast series “Zoetrope” later that same year.
In 2021, she starred alongside Tom Holland in “Chaos Walking.” In 2022, she made a brief cameo appearance in the Netflix comedy “The Bubble.”
Fans can look forward to her role as Helena Pelletier in 2022’s “The Marsh King’s Daughter” and as Fran in “Sometimes I Think About Dying,” both of which are currently in post-production. She is currently filming “Young Woman and the Sea” as Gertrude Ederle and will lend her voice to “The Inventor” as Marguerite. She has also been tapped to star in “Women in the Castle,” which is in pre-production.
John Boyega Won A Golden Globe After 'Star Wars'
After starring as Finn in the sequel trilogy, John Boyega won a Golden Globe for his role in the TV mini-series “Small Axe,” where he portrayed Leroy Logan in 2020. In 2021, Boyega voiced Jack Locke in the podcast series “Tomorrow’s Monsters.”
He made a splash in 2022’s “892” at the Sundance Film Festival and was as Casi in “Naked Singularity” the previous year.
Boyega has several projects lined up for 2022, including “The Woman King,” where he plays King Ghezo, and “They Cloned Tyrone,” where he plays Fontaine. Both films are in post-production. He has also been tapped for “The Test,” which is in pre-production, and the long-awaited “Attack the Block 2,” where he will reprise his role as Moses.
Oscar Isaac Goes From Star Wars To Marvel
After starring as Resistance pilot Poe Dameron, Oscar Isaac went on to play William Tell in 2021’s “The Card Counter” and Duke Leto Atreides in “Dune.” He starred as Jonathan opposite Jessica Chastain in HBO’s “Scenes from a Marriage” and also reprised his voice role for Gomez Addams in “The Addams Family 2.”
In addition to playing Anselm Vogelweide in “Big Gold Brick,” Isaac appeared for six-episodes during Marvel’s Disney+ live-action series “Moon Knight” as the titular superhero and all of his alter egos. The finale actually debuted today, on Wednesday, May 4.
In addition to voicing Miguel O’Hara in 2023’s “Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse,” Isaac has been tapped to play Francis Ford Coppola in “Francis and the Godfather” and Solid Snake in “Metal Gear Solid.” No release dates for those two projects have been announced at this time.
Adam Driver Goes All Out In Gucci Garb
After playing Kylo Ren and the redeemed Ben Solo, Adam Driver may have been the busiest of the bunch. In addition to his Oscar-nominated performances in 2018’s “BlacKkKlansman” and 2019’s “Marriage Story,” he also appeared opposite Bill Murray in “The Dead Don’t Die.”
In 2021, Driver appeared in the musical “Annette,” the medieval drama “The Last Duel” and “House of Gucci,” opposite Lady Gaga. Although he failed to scoop up any Oscar nominations in 2021, he has been tapped for several projects going forward. He will star as Jack Gladney in “White Noise” and has also been cast in “65,” which has been pushed back to 2023.
He has also been selected to replace Hugh Jackman in the Enzo Ferrari biopic, aptly titled “Enzo Ferrari.”
