Mindy Kaling is sharing new details about her kids!

The renowned entertainer, whose birth name is Vera Mindy Chokalingam, has established herself as a Hollywood giant with numerous credits as an actress, comedian, scriptwriter, and producer.

When the Cambridge native is not strutting down red carpets or gracing the screens with her charming personality, the 42-year-old enjoys being a mother to daughter Katherine and baby boy Spencer.

During an exclusive interview with PEOPLE for their Beautiful Issue cover, Netflix's "Never Have I Ever" co-creator candidly spoke about her motherhood experiences.

According to the Hollywood sensation, the best moment to spend time with her kids was after their early dinners before the adorable troublemakers got frisky.

"There's this time in the [early evening] before my children have become demons, just after dinner, that I think is really happy," the stand-up personality said.

The Satellite Award winner explained, "because they're full of food and have a lot of energy, but they're not over-tired for the day," noting that the early evening marked the perfect time for a walk or run.

"We just have a lot of fun at that time," Kaling continued, "The light's really beautiful, and that's a really joyous time for me."

"The Sex Lives Of College Girls" executive producer also enjoyed these moments with her kids during the pandemic, especially watching baby Spencer grow.

In her words, "He's probably brought me the most joy in the past 18 months, and he could not have come at a better time. That was a nice distraction from the pandemic.

The doting parent gushed, describing her son as a child filled with joy and a love for "trucks and tires." She explained, "If you show him any tire, he'll be so happy. Like tiny on a car, anything, he just loves it. So that's a real joy in my life."

The little boy appeared to have his mother's comedic gifts as "The Mindy Project" actress revealed that Spencer enjoyed making her laugh with a dramatic performance.

Recalling his charming antics with a smile, the entertainer said, "my son will take one of his trucks, and he'll just like throw it across the room or hit someone in the head with it."

"It doesn't hurt, and he'll go, 'Uh oh,' like it was a mistake and not something he did on purpose," the Screen Actors Guild Award winner continued, adding that his innocent act always made her laugh.

The "Four Weddings and a Funeral" Star Marked Easter By Twinning With Katherine

As reported by The Blast, Kaling protected her children by keeping them away from the spotlight, but on Easter, the mother-of-two could not help but share a precious family picture.

On Sunday, April 17, the "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?" author blessed her Instagram fans with a picture of her family's outfits for the festivities.

Keeping to her protective nature, "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" actress did not show her children's faces. Instead, the image showed their backs as the family walked down a street.

Kaling carried Spencer on one arm while holding Katherine with her other hand. The mother and daughter rocked matching dresses designed with colorful flowers for the occasion.

The adorable pair wore matching white shoes, with Kaling in high platforms and her daughter in low shoes. The 42-year-old also joked about their outfits in the caption:

"Even my Hindu family is in awe of the power of Easter! Also, it’s one of the only times it’s socially acceptable to match clothes with your kids, which, as you can see, I did."

Last year, in honor of President Joe Biden's and Vice President Kamala Harris' election victory, the "Why Not Me" author shared her daughter's reaction to the inauguration ceremony.

The proud mother shared a picture of Katherine glued to the TV screen as she watched Harris, a fellow Indian-American, speak at the event. 

According to the "Inside Out" star, her daughter mistook the Vice President for Kaling because they looked alike. "Best compliment I ever got!" the proud mother gushed.
