Actor Johnny Depp has been making headlines due to his defamation suit against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

The couple is facing each other at the Fairfax County Circuit Court. The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor is suing his ex-wife for $50 million over a December 2018 op-ed Heard wrote for the Washington Post where she claims that she is a domestic violence survivor. Although she did not mention Depp by name, he claims that he has lost movie roles due to the “clear implication” that he was the “Aquaman” actress’ abuser.

In Australia, Heard was reportedly "upset" and "angry" at Depp "many times." The line of questioning seemed to hop around between various topics that had been brought up during the trial to date.

When asked about the incident where Depp was throwing things around the room and slamming cabinets, Depp could not remember specifically what he was upset about.

Earlier in the morning, an audio clip was played where the jury heard Heard claiming that Depp put a cigarette out on her. After reminding Depp of the incident, an audio clip was then played between Depp and Heard which showed them arguing over the couch.

"By the way, you just threw a f---ing cigarette on me," Heard says in the clip.

When asked if he recognized what was in the recording, Depp replied, "It's pretty clear that she's ordering me to the couch and I didn't want to go through with any... again, avoiding confrontation, trying to avoid confrontation in any way."

Depp said "without hesitation" that there is "no way" that he would flick a cigarette at her or burn her with a cigarette. He pointed out that Heard did not "scream out in pain" and called her claim "ludicrous." He added that the event in question happened in Toronto.

On May 22, 2016, Depp said that he was preparing for a tour with his band, the Hollywood Vampires.

On that day, Depp texted Heard, "Nothing I have to say to you should elicit anything but a sense of ease." Depp said that he was bringing up what they had previously discussed, meaning a "peaceful resolution to the problems." Depp said that he wanted a "private" and "calm" divorce between the two of them.

"I didn't want to argue," Depp said. "I didn't want anything but to end the marriage in the kindest way possible for all her family, my family, her, myself, etc."

Depp had added, "All my love and profound apologies" to the text messages. Depp said the apology was in regard to "we just couldn't work... there was no way." He said, "I tried to put a peaceful end, a peaceful stop, to the endless... um, the endless opportunities for these constant arguments."

He said they both wanted out of the marriage, adding, "No one deserves to live like that." He told the jury, "I just wanted a smooth exit for both of us. That's all I was looking for."

Heard said in another audio clip that it caused her "immense stress" when Depp walked away in one of many audio clips that showed the disintegration of their marriage.

Depp can be heard saying, "I will take my space, whether you like it or not."

"This is not love. This is not happiness," he continued, while Heard can be heard begging him to stop.

"I'm going to die," she can be heard saying. "You're causing me so much stress. Please stop. You are so f---ing mean. You're a f---ing bully. Stop."

In another audio clip, Depp and Heard can be discussing the terms of the divorce. Heard can be heard saying "I did not choose this." She adds, "I did not call the cops. I did not give them any statement when they came. I tried to protect you." Depp can be heard insisting that someone they knew called the cops. Heard can be heard saying that she thought she was going to lose her life; Depp counters that she threw a "mineral can" at him.

The audio clip of their tumultuous argument was one of the last played before Depp was finally dismissed from the stand. It is possible that Heard will take the stand to give her side of the story next week.
