Taylor Swift is in the process of remastering her early albums and is inspiring other artists to do the same. The "Blank Space" artist recently released the "Taylor's Version" of her two albums, "Fearless" and "Red."

Swift's move to remaster her albums resulted from Scooter Braun purchasing the masters for her six early albums with Big Machine. After attempts to buy the masters proved futile, the 32-year-old decided to hit the studio again.

Snoop Dogg Said Taylor Swift Almost Inspired Him To Remaster 'Doggystyle'

Snoop Dogg revealed that Swift almost inspired him to remaster some of his greatest songs. The 50-year-old appeared in "Full Send Podcast" on Wednesday and admitted that he previously considered a "Snoop's Version" of his debut studio album, "Doggystyle."

Snoop said, "She ain't an old artist at all. She's quite new. What did she do? She remastered her album. Why? Because she wasn't making revenues off that album." He added that Swift remade her album for her fans as a way for them to support her.

"Why did she redo her album?" he continued. "Because she couldn't get finances, so she couldn't get finances, so she redid her album as a way of, 'I'll make this for my fans, and they'll support me because those are my vocals, and this is my music. I should be making money off of my project when you buy it."

Snoop Dogg Said He Wanted To Remaster 'Doggystyle' Years Ago

During the podcast, the 17-time Grammy nominee mentioned his conversation with his son about remastering an early album. He then explained that he backed out of the idea because he felt like a remastered version of the album, "Doggystyle," wouldn't feel like the real thing.

He recalled, "I was going to remaster my album. My son had told me years ago, he was like, 'You should just remaster 'Doggystyle' pops, f--k all that. Just remaster it; you ain't gotta worry about all that.'" However, Snoop felt the album couldn't be remastered like "them R&B songs." "That s--t was a feeling, that s--t was a moment," he said.

Snoop added that while remastering was the better alternative for some artists, the same couldn't be said for him, so he "had to go get my s--t back." "Cause after seven years, in case you artists don't know, there's a seven-year clause where you can remaster your album and get the ownership back," he said.

Snoop Dogg Bought Death Row Records

Thirty years after the release of his debut album through Death Row Records, Snoop bought the label. In February, the "Gin and Juice" artist bought the brand and took down all the music released on digital streaming platforms a month later.

The 50-year-old then announced that he was making plans to launch his own streaming platform with some unique features. According to Billboard, the platform would enable fans to buy the music released by the label as NFTs.

In his appearance on the Drinks Champs podcast, Snoop said, "First thing I did was snatch all the music off those platforms traditionally known to people because those platforms don't pay. And those platforms get millions and millions and millions of streams, and nobody gets paid other than the record labels."

He added that he intended to take the music off, making a platform similar to Amazon, Hulu, or Netflix, and call it the Death Row app. The rapper would then include the music on the platform.

Swift disclosed how she found out about Braun acquiring the rights to her albums. Via Tumblr, she wrote, "Some fun facts about today's news: I learned about Scooter Braun's purchase of my masters as it was announced to the world. All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I've received at his hands for years."

According to Variety, Braun already sold off the albums' masters for over $300 million. Since her announcement, Swift has released "Taylor's Version" of "Fearless" and "Red." The album releases also came with some "From the Vault" tracks that weren't included in the original work.
