Will Smith Spotted Out & About For First Time Since Oscars Slap

Actor Will Smith was seen out and about for the first time since the infamous Oscars slap that took place almost a month ago.

Although his wife, Jada-Pinkett Smith, has been focused on season 5 of her Facebook Watch "Red Table Talk" series, which debuted last Wednesday, the new Oscar-winner is heading far away from Hollywood.

Several outlets reported that the “Independence Day” actor was smiling and laughing as he touched down at a private airport in Mumbai, India. According to TMZ, it was clear that the paparazzi knew that Smith was coming.

They shouted his name as he pulled up to his hotel. Smith was seen smiling and waving to fans and even posed for a few photographs. It doesn’t seem that the “Pursuit of Happiness” actor is there for a movie, as several of his upcoming projects have been put on hold after he slapped Chris Rock at the 94th annual Academy Awards, earning a 10-year ban from all Academy events.

However, fans have a theory as to why Smith decided to resurface in India.

One user tweeted, "Will Smith has gone to India for a spiritual journey to heal.....after jada...he will need a long long time to heal!"

Other fans pointed out that Will Smith has traveled to India to practice Hinduism before.

One user tweeted, "Will Smith is away in India for healing and studying Hinduism. He did this 2019 as well."

One user theorized, "Will Smith left India today. He came to India just to get an advice from his spiritual guru how he would control his anger before his anger controls him."

An opening title card for the fifth series of the "Red Table Talk" on Wednesday did not address the slap directly but hinted at the possibility that it might be discussed later in the season.

“Considering all that has happened in the last few weeks, the Smith family has been focused on deep healing,” the opening title read.

“Some of the discoveries around our healing will be shared at the table when the time calls,” the statement continued. “Until then the table will continue offering itself to powerful, inspiring, and healing testimonies like that of our incredibly impressive first guest.”

It seems that the "deep healing" that the family is going through right now might explain why Smith is in India. Fans won't know exactly why the "Men In Black" actor is in India until he makes a statement, but it's clear that Smith looks happy to be there!
