Diane Kruger rose to prominence for her depiction of Helen of Sparta in Wolfgang Petersen's epic "Troy," and she has since secured additional high-profile parts in "National Treasure," "Inglourious Basterds," "Mr. Nobody," and "Infiltrator."

While the actress has undoubtedly benefited from her celebrity lifestyle since her emergence, she has also faced some drawbacks. The constant swarming of paparazzi around her like amateur sleuths on the lookout for juicy news, is one such disadvantage.

Although admirers of the Kruger would be thankful to the paparazzi for giving them fresh gossip about her, the artist herself has found the frequent hassle to be an inconvenience. She recently revealed that she almost smacked photographers who attempted to photograph her while she was outside of her home.

'I've Almost Hit A Few Of Them'

During a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Kruger confessed she despised being hassled by paparazzi, who always seem to gather around her. The actress then stated that she struggles to restrain herself from physically attacking reporters as they attempt to photograph her and her child on their outings.

"I f--king hate it, and it's driving me nuts," she said about her disdain for Paparazzi. "When I'm with my kid, and they take pictures of her, I've almost hit a few of them. If I see them and they're brave enough to not walk away, 100 percent I'm that crazy lady who yells across the street."

Kruger's reaction to her privacy invasion might be attributed to her desire to live a very quiet lifestyle since becoming famous and successful. The actress has maintained this approach, keeping much of her details private, including the name of her kid, whom she welcomed in 2018 with her long-term partner Norman Reedus.

Diane Kruger Appealed For Her Child's Privacy

Kruger's most recent interview with The Sunday Times is not the first time she has spoken out in defense of her and her child's privacy. In 2019, she pleaded publicly for her child's privacy, asking followers not to share or repost photos of her child, taken and published by paparazzi without authorization.

"Dear fans, dear nonfans, dear paparazzi and anyone with a conscience. We were just tagged in these paparazzi pictures of me and our daughter. These pictures were taken without our consent and expose a vulnerable and innocent baby," Kruger captioned the photo.

She added: "While we understand that some people would like to see a picture of our daughter, we parents want nothing more than allow her to grow up in privacy and safety."

Diane Kruger Made Her Understand Her Mother's Reproach During Her Growing Years

The actress previously had experience caring for a child, having partly raised Reedus's first son, Mingus, when the couple began dating. However, having her own kid greatly influenced Kruger in more ways than one, most notably changing her mindset toward her mother.

"I can see how she tried and did her best, you know," Kruger told The Sunday Times. "All the things that you reproach your parents for when you grow up, they fall away because you understand finally what it takes."

Kruger's parents parted ways when she was a teenager due to her mother's dissatisfaction with her partner's alcoholism. While the situation hurt Kruger terribly, she has since come to grips with it and no longer feels anguish about it.

Now that her days of partying and experimenting are far behind, the actress said she is ready to give her all to training her child. Kruger, however, is not quitting acting to be a stay home mum. She recently starred in Simon Kinberg's spy film "355" and the drama series "Swimming with Sharks."

The 45-year-old will also star in some upcoming projects, including Marlowe and Joika, which will premiere on an unannounced date.
