Ezra Miller Arrested By Police In Hawaii Under Suspicion Of Second-Degree Assault

Actor Ezra Miller was arrested in Hawaii yet again.

It should be noted that, in 2020, Miller told GQ that he uses they/them pronouns and made “a pointed refusal not to be gendered.”

According to the Hawaii Island Police Department, Miller was booked on Tuesday morning on suspicion of second-degree assault.

The Hollywood Reporter noted that, around 1:30 AM, Miller was taken into custody after an incident at a residence in Pāhoa. Miller had reportedly been attending a get-together at a private residence.

According to police, Miller “Became irate after being asked to leave.” The actor “reportedly threw a chair, striking a 26-year-old female on the forehead, resulting in an approximate half-inch cut.”

Miller was arrested shortly after at a traffic stop, although he has since been released “pending further investigation.”

After his first arrest, assistant police chief Kenneth Quiocho told the Associated Press on Wednesday that “The Flash” actor has been the subject of at least 10 calls in less than a month.

The police associate chief revealed that many of the complaints they received against Miller were over “manini” incidents. “Manini” is a Hawaiian term meaning “minor” or “small.” Several of these incidents reportedly included filming people at a gas station and refusing to leave the sidewalk outside of a restaurant when asked.

It is unclear how long Miller has been staying on the island. In one disturbing incident, Page Six reported that Miller had allegedly snuck into a Hilo-based couple and burst into the couple’s bedroom. According to a temporary restraining order obtained by the outlet, the court documents allege that Miller threatened them by saying, “I will bury you and your s--- wife.”

The documents allege that Miller stole a passport and a wallet that contained a social security card, a license, and other documents. The document states that “The respondent is famous and wealthy” and added that “this makes access to weapons much easier; as well as sending associates to harass the petitioner.”

The couple pulled the restraining order petition against Miller last week. The reason for doing so was not disclosed.

According to a statement released by police, Miller, 29, “became agitated while patrons at the bar began singing karaoke.” Miller then reportedly “began yelling obscenities and at one point grabbed the microphone from a 23-year-old woman singing karaoke…and later lunged at a 32-year-old man playing darts.” Miller has provided bail and has since been released.

“Shortly after midnight on Monday, March 28, 2022, a 29-year-old man visiting from Vermont was arrested and charged for disorderly conduct and harassment after an incident at a bar in Hilo.

“On Sunday, March 27, at 11:30 p.m., South Hilo patrol officers responded to a report of disorderly patron at a bar on Silva Street. During the course of their investigation, police determined that the man, later identified as Ezra Miller, became agitated while patrons at the bar began singing karaoke. Miller began yelling obscenities and at one point grabbed the microphone from a 23-year-old woman singing karaoke (disorderly conduct offense) and later lunged at a 32-year-old man playing darts (harassment offense). The bar owner asked Miller to calm down several times to no avail.

“Miller was arrested and charged on both offenses and total bail was set at $500. They provided bail and was released.”

In June 2011, Miller was the subject of a police investigation while he was filming “The Perks Of Being A Wallflower” in Pennsylvania. Miller was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over for a broken brake light. Police discovered 20 grams of marijuana in their possession. Miller was charged with drug possession but the charges were later dropped. They faced a fine of $600 dollars for two citations of disorderly conduct.

In April 2020, a video surfaced online that appeared to show Miller choking a woman and throwing her to the ground. Variety confirmed that the video took place in Reykjavik at Prikið Kaffihús, “a trendy bar in central Reykjavik that Miller frequents” when in the city. The outlet reported that a bar employee identified the person in the video as Miller and said they were escorted off the premises by staff after the incident.

Many fans are hoping that these incidents will not shadow Miller’s up-and-coming career. The New Jersey native made their feature film debut in 2008’s “Afterschool.” From there, he starred as the titular Kevin in 2011’s “We Need To Talk About Kevin.”

In 2015, he co-starred in the drama “The Stanford Prison Experiment” and the Amy Schumer comedy “Trainwreck.” He is also known for playing Credence Barebone in the “Fantastic Beasts” film series.

Miller first appeared as The Flash, also known as Barry Allen, in 2016’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Since then, Miller has appeared in “Suicide Squad,” “Justice League,” and recently finished filming “The Flash” late last year, which is scheduled for a 2023 release.
