Cristiano Ronaldo Announces Loss Of Baby Boy: 'The Greatest Pain ... Parents Can Feel'

On Monday, Cristiano Ronaldo announced that one of his twin babies died during childbirth.

He announced the post in a joint statement on Instagram along with his longtime partner, Georgina Rodriquez.

On Monday, the Portuguese football player, 37, announced that he and Georgina, 28, had lost their baby boy in a devastating message posted to Instagram.

“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel,” they wrote in a joint statement.

“Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness,” they continued.

“We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support,” the message went on. “We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time.”

They concluded their statement, saying, “Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”

Many expressed support for Cristiano and Georgina after the loss of their baby boy.

In addition to their newborn daughter, the couple also shares a daughter, Alana, 3. Cristiano is also father to Cristiano Jr., 11, and twins Mateo and Eva, 4, through surrogate mothers.

Georgina recalled how the couple first met in 2016 when she was working as a sales assistant at a Gucci store. She told Italy’s Elle magazine that after Cristiano first came into the store, they saw each other days later at another brand’s event. “It was then that we could talk in a relaxed atmosphere, outside of my work environment,” she said. “It was love at first sight for both.”
