Darren Criss Welcomes First Child 'Bluesy Belle' With Wife Mia

Darren Criss and his wife Mia have welcomed their first baby!!

The "Glee" star had previously revealed on Twitter last October that he and his partner were expecting their first child after three years of marriage. At the time, he also announced the news on Instagram, along with a slideshow of photographs and videos, including a sonogram and the words "Baby Von Criss, Dropping Spring 2022."

During the run-up to the child's birth, the couple kept fans updated with the pregnancy journey with cute photos together. All of that excitement has now culminated in the baby's arrival on Monday, on pace with the pregnancy timetable.

After welcoming their first child, daughter Bluesy Belle, on Monday, Darren and his wife Mia shared the news of her arrival on Thursday via their Instagram account.

The message included a photo of the newborn, who was covered in a blanket and enjoying a hug from her overjoyed parents. Darren and Mia also looked lovingly at her, with the actress, in particular, all smiles, conveying her joy at being a new mother.

"M & D made some sweet music. Bluesy Belle Criss 4/11/22 Out now," Darren, 35, wrote in the caption in a cute format, alluding to their passion for music as a musical couple.

Darren's enigmatic message appeared to connect to his last year's post when he published the baby's ultrasound, which stated the baby's expected delivery date. At the time, he also posted a photo of himself and his wife listening to the child's heartbeat at a recording studio.

"We've been making music for years," Criss captioned the old clip. "… But this time we made a BEAT. The ultimate collab droppin Spring 2022."

Friends and well-wishers swarmed Darren's comment section to congratulate the couple on the arrival of their bundle of joy. The post garnered almost 500 thousand likes and 500 plus comments in less than 20 hours, indicating how excited their followers were at the news.

One fan said, "OMG!! Congrats you two!!. She is beautiful!! You two are going to be the most amazing parents and I love her name!!"

Another follower wrote, "This is the sweetest thing i am so unbelievably happy for the both of you. You guys make the most beautiful family"

One more user said, "Omg. Congrats to the both of you and welcome to the world bluesy! You are so love[d] already!"

Before the announcement of the child's birth, Criss posted on Twitter to alert followers of his return to Broadway in a new play titled "American Buffalo."

Criss and his co-stars subsequently appeared in the show's maiden outing on April 14 at Circle in the Square Theatre in New York. Subsequently, the production will continue its strictly limited 16-week run, which had previously been delayed by the pandemic for two years.

"American Buffalo" chronicles the lives of three small-time hustlers who want a bigger cut of the American dream. Moreso, it would highlight loyalty and greed as a common theme within the underworld of crime and business in America.

In addition to Criss, the Broadway revival of the David Mamet play will also star Laurence Fishburne, Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Sam Rockwell. Scott Pask, Dede Ayite, Tyler Micoleau, and Telsey + Company will serve as the production's creative team members.

While Criss has preferred to live most of his career in the spotlight, Mia likes to shine from the shadows. The new mom was introduced to Criss by mutual acquaintances in 2006. Four years later, they started their romance and married in a grandiose wedding in New Orleans in February 2019.

As per her IMDb page, Mia is a writer/producer for media giants Fox and has handled marketing content and campaigns for series such as "The Mindy Project," "New Girl," "Glee," and "Scream Queens." The new mother also doubles as a freelance filmmaker, having directed several short movies and music videos, including Keke Palmer's breakthrough hit "I Don't Belong to You."

Mia is the co-owner of Effin Media. In her free time, she plays the Bass and sings and has featured in a variety of rock bands, including "Guns n' Hoses."
