Price Harry & Meghan Markle Secretly Visit Queen Elizabeth In U.K.

It seems that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their first visit to the U.K. to visit Queen Elizabeth since they moved to the United States years ago.
In 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to Megan’s home state of California. Meghan, 40, and Prince Harry, 37, carried out their final round of royal engagements that year before they stepped out of their royals at the end of March 2020.
The couple was in Europe for Prince Harry’s fifth Invictus Games, which was taking place in the Dutch city of The Hague. A spokesperson for the couple confirmed to PEOPLE that they had visited Queen Elizabeth, 95, who is currently residing at Windsor Castle.
Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Make Their First Joint Trip To U.K. In Two Years
This is the couple’s first joint trip to the U.K. together since 2020. Prince Harry returned to the U.K. for his grandfather, Prince Philip’s, funeral in April 2021. He returned in July 2021 to unveil a statue of his mother, Princess Diana, alongside his older brother Prince William. In addition to COVID-19 restrictions making it difficult to travel at that time, Meghan also gave birth to the couple’s daughter, Lilibet Diana, in June.
On Monday, a spokesperson for the couple confirmed that Meghan will be joining Prince Harry for the first few days of the Invictus Games, which is an international sports competition that Prince Harry founded for wounded service members and veterans. The fifth Invictus Games were originally scheduled for 2020 but were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meghan had previously joined Prince Harry at the Toronto Games in 2017, which marked the couple’s first appearance together. Since also joined him for the Sydney Games in 2018, shortly after they announced that they were expecting their first child, son Archie Harrison.
Meghan Markle Tells Oprah Winfrey There Were ‘Concerns’ About Their Baby’s Race
In a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan Markle said that the royal family had expressed concern about the baby’s skin tone in March 2021, which soured relations between the couple and the rest of the royal family.
Meghan told Oprah that there were “concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he was born.” She added, “That was relayed to me from Harry. Those were conversations that family had with him. That would be very damaging to them.”
“That conversation, I am never going to share,” Prince Harry added. “At the time, it was awkward, I was a bit shocked.”
“But it was right at the beginning,” he added. “What will the kids look like? That was at the beginning when she wasn't going to get security, when my family suggested that she might continue acting (because there wasn't going to be money for her).”
"One of the most telling parts and the saddest parts, I guess, was over 70 female members of Parliament, both Conservative and Labour, came out and called out the colonial undertones of articles and headlines written about Meghan. Yet no one from my family ever said anything,” Harry said. “That hurts.”
“It takes living in her shoes, in this instance, for a day or those first eight days to see where it was going to go and how far they were going to take it and get away with it,” he added.
