It's Official: The Next Host Of 'Jeopardy!' Is...
By Kristin Myers on July 28, 2022 at 7:00 AM EDT
The "Jeopardy!" hosting position is one that comes with a lot of responsibility and fans want to make sure that they invite the right person into their homes every night, Monday through Friday, as they tune in to watch the beloved game show as they have ever since late host Alex Trebek passed away of pancreatic cancer in November 2020.
Last year, Sony announced that both "Jeopardy!" Greatest of All Time Tournament Winner Ken Jennings and "The Big Bang Theory" alum Mayim Bialik would be tag-teaming hosting responsibilities through the end of the season.
Now, it seems they've finally made their decision as to who should be the new host, or should we say hosts, of "Jeopardy!".
Is The New 'Jeopardy!' Host Ken Jennings Or Mayim Bialik?

On Tuesday, Sony announced via their social media channels that the new host of "Jeopardy!" is both Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings.
"Please join us in welcoming the official co-hosts of Jeopardy!, @kenjennings and @missmayim! We couldn’t be more thrilled," they tweeted.
In the letter from executive producer Michael Davies, they revealed that Ken will start hosting season 39, which starts taping next week. Ken will host from September through December and Mayim will pick things up in January while still balancing commitments to her Fox sitcom, "Call Me Kat."
Although Ken will host the inaugural Second Chance Tournament and the Tournament of Champions later this year, Mayim will continue to host the National College Championship and other special tournaments. She will also host the spin-off "Celebrity Jeopardy!", which airs Sundays on ABC starting in September.
Former 'Jeopardy!' Champions Wanted Ken Jennings To Be The New Host
In an interview shortly after her run ended in early May, 23-game winner Mattea Roach told Vulture that Ken Jennings was her pick for the next permanent host position.
"I would say Ken because of his history with the show," she said. "As a contestant, there’s something really special about being on stage with the greatest player of all time. Someone who understands in a very visceral way what it’s like to be in your position."
She added that "Mayim is fantastic" but said that "she doesn’t have that same experience."
Former "Jeopardy!" champion Amy Schneider also threw her support behind Ken Jennings to become the new permanent host. Amy's impressive run ended in January 2022 and left her with the second-longest win streak of 40 games won in a row. However, it was still not enough to topple the win streak of 74 games that Jennings won back in 2004.
In an interview with CNN's Brian Stelter, Amy said that Jennings had put in the work and did "a really great job." Amy added, "Ken Jennings should be the host. I really can't say enough about him."
"I didn't necessarily think that before going into this because, yes, he was a great champion, but this is a different skill set," she continued. "But you could see the work that he put into it, and I just thought he did a really great job."
"So as far as I'm concerned, that's my endorsement," she added.
Amy's win streak was ended by librarian Rhone Talsma, whose statement neon-yellow glasses earned him praise on Twitter.
In a recent interview with Vulture, Rhone said that he would also love to see Ken Jennings become the next permanent host.
"If I'm able to endorse a host, I one-hundred-percent endorse Ken Jennings," Talsma said. "His knowledge of the game gives him so much credibility."
"There's nobody better suited for the job," he added.
In addition, fans have been pretty vocal about their desire to see Ken Jennings take over the late Alex Trebek, with some fans even claiming that they were "boycotting" the show and refused to tune in when Mayim was hosting.
A lot of "Jeopardy!" fans are still not sure how to feel now that both Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings have been announced as the new co-hosts of the show and reactions on social media have been mixed.
