Alec Baldwin Explains Why He Keeps Having More Children

Actor Alec Baldwin just loves being a dad.

Wife Hilaria Baldwin just announced that she is pregnant... again! She has decided not to disclose the gender yet, but she revealed that she is due in the fall.

The couple has already given birth to children Carmen Gabriela, 8, Rafael Thomas, 6, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 5, Romeo Alejandro David, 3 1/2, and Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas, who was born in September 2020, is now 18 months old. María Lucía Victoria, the couple’s newest daughter, was born last spring and is now 13 months old. Alec Baldwin also has a daughter, Ireland Baldwin, 26, with ex-wife Kim Basinger.

On Thursday, Alec Baldwin finally explained he has so many children.

Fans have mixed feelings about the 64-year-old actor welcoming yet another child with Hilaria, 38.

On Thursday, Alec posted a video of his daughter María Lucía cooing as the “30 Rock” actor showed off her two front teeth that were coming in.

“People ask why. This is why,” Alec wrote in the caption, seemingly in response to people asking why he keeps having more children.

“Being a parents in the ultimate journey,” he added.

Billy Baldwin commented, “The smile, giggles, joy… ❤️”

Leslie Jordan wrote, “More precious than words ❤️❤️❤️”

One fan commented, “When people ask me why, I always respond with ‘why not?’ It usually is enough for them to think over their ridiculous questioning.”

Many were surprised to hear that the couple was expecting another child at the end of March. Hilaria called the baby a surprise, so it doesn't seem that this pregnancy was planned.

“After many ups and downs over the past few years, we have an exciting up and a huge surprise: another Baldwinito is coming this fall ?,” she wrote in the caption of her Instagram post.

“We were pretty sure our family was complete, and we’re beyond happy with this surprise,” she continued. “I’m sharing with you the moment we told the kids—as you can see, they are super excited!”

“Our new baby is a very bright spot in our lives. A blessing and a gift during such uncertain times,” she added. “I’ve missed you during my break from social media… I’m back and looking forward to continuing with you this wild journey that we call ‘life.’ Our love to you and your loved ones ❤️”

In the lengthy Instagram message, Alec's oldest daughter, Ireland Baldwin wrote, “I get countless messages from people who are kind of alarmingly obsessed with my father and his family. I think a lot of people assume my take on any of this, well here it is for free — it’s none of my business.”

“To all the media outlets who have reached out for a quote – there’s your quote,” she continued. “I don’t care. My life is here in Oregon with my boyfriend, 6 dogs, and my new business. I smoke weed, I eat good food, and I mind MY own business.”

Ireland had kind words for her parents, writing that they “Have been very helpful in my life.” She added, “My mom has never gone a day without telling me how much she believes in me.”

“All that matters is I approve of me, and it feels d--- good,” she wrote. “I am so grateful and lucky to be where I am. Thank you to those who always send me support and kind words. To those that still have a negative opinion of me, stick around. You might see something you’ll like.”
