Chris Rock's brother Kenny Rock is no fan of the veteran actor Will Smith after the movie star slapped his brother at the Academy Awards.
As you may know, Will hit Chris because the "Everybody Hates Chris" producer joked about his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith’s hair loss condition while presenting at the ceremony.
Following the famous incident, Kenny called out the “King Richard” star as he hoped to combat him with fists in the boxing ring.
Chris Rock’s Sibling Believes He Can Defeat Will Smith In A Boxing Match
The comedian’s youngest sibling recently signed a deal with Celebrity Boxing creator Damon Feldman for a summer fight in Florida.
He reportedly does not have an opponent, but the “Bad Boys” icon seems to be his ideal contender of choice based on TMZ's narrative.
The differences in their size do not seem to pose a problem, and he believed he would triumph despite Will’s taller stature. The movie personality was also previously featured as the renowned boxer Muhammad Ali on television.
The hopeful boxer is scheduled to fight at the Charles F. Dodge City Center in Pembroke Pines on June 11.
Kenny does not believe his older brother wants to have any skirmish with Will; however, him calling out the movie icon implies how Chris felt about the situation.
Earlier this month, The Blast reported that the comedy star’s brother opened up to the Los Angeles Times about the Oscars occurrence. He felt “helpless” watching his sibling being assaulted. Kenny clarified to the news channel:
"It eats at me watching [the footage] over and over again because you’ve seen a loved one being attacked, and there’s nothing you can do about it."
He believed his brother was not a threat to Will, and the 53-year-old did not respect Chris at the moment as he disparaged him in front of numerous viewers of the program.
According to the TMZ’s report, which Kenny confirmed, Chris had no idea that Jada had been diagnosed with alopecia, which hints at his justification for his sibling’s Oscars joke.
Despite Will’s resignation from the Academy and his apology, Kenny said the “Pursuit of Happiness” actor should be prevented from any future Academy Awards ceremonies, and his Oscar should be withdrawn.
Although the onscreen icon apologized to the Academy and fellow nominees at the program but not to Chris, he later shared an apologetic message to the 57-year-old on his social media pages.
Several people believed the apology note was too late, including the voice actor’s brother.
Kenny said, "I might have looked at it differently had he initially apologized when he got on the stage and cried and accepted the award, but he didn’t, so right there, that tells me that it is something else."
He felt the “Bright” actor should have been escorted out of the Oscars event as he held the Academy accountable for not doing so.
"In my opinion, he embarrassed himself by doing that and his legacy by doing that," he added while mentioning that Will had not reached out to any ‘Rock’ family member to apologize about the attack.
Kenny is not the only member of the family supporting the comedian. Another brother, Tony Rock, held a Q&A session on Twitter after the Oscars ceremony, which he did not attend.
He was asked a few questions about the incident as fans believed Chris and Will had made up the same night of the occasion.
His responses were noticeably short and showed that the dispute between the celebrities was not done, as he also did not accept Will’s apology.
The "The Longest Yard" Star’s Youngest Brother Takes Sides, Calls Oscars Joke Funny
In a previous report by The Blast, Chris had made no statement about being aware of Jada’s condition even though his brother stated that the presenter genuinely had no idea when he made the joke.
Kenny regarded the joke as funny, but not the hilarious kind of funny as he believed his brother would not have jested had he known about the actress’ alopecia.
Since the fiasco, the “Madagascar” actor has kept a low profile and has not addressed any speculations. He is currently on his “Ego Death World” tour, which started some days after the Oscars.
Chris’ other brother Tony has previously shown his support, both with an online Q&A session and an issued statement where he condemned Will’s actions.
However, the youngest sibling seems to be the most invested in the whole situation out of the three siblings as he voiced out severally against the film producer.
