Since Reynolds plays an older version of Scobell in their Netflix film, he joked that he is now an older Percy Jackson. Reynolds tweeted, “I guess this makes me older Percy Jackson? Congrats Walker Scobell! You were always a demigod in my mind.”
“AYO RYAN TRY TO INFLUENCE YOUR WAY INTO THIS AND PLAY MR. D (DIONYSUS),” one fan wrote.
“Ppl keep saying Poseidon but you are absolutely right, he would be a MUCH better Mr. D.,” Another replied.
“Yeah, Poseidon could fit because he does look like the kid's father, but he'd be so much better as Mr. D. Like, just imagining mr. D with Reynolds charisma and snark makes my day,” said another.
“Ryan Reynolds cameo?!??! Perhaps as Hermes?!?!” another asked.
“What if he was Apollo?” another ventured.
“Ryan would make an awesome Hermes,” another fan ventured.
Another said, “he would be an even better Dionysus.”
Whatever role he plays, most fans can agree that a Ryan Reynolds cameo appearance in the new “Percy Jackson” Disney+ series would be amazing.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Walker Scobell will play the young demigod in the adaption of Rick Riordan’s book series, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians.” Riordan also serves as an executive producer of the series and announced the news on his website.
“Walker Scobell is an incredibly talented young man who blew us away with his audition tapes for the role of Percy,” Riordan wrote. “Many of you recently discovered how great Walker is when you watched his movie The Adam Project, in which Walker lit up the screen as a younger version of Ryan Reynolds’ character. We were fortunate enough to audition Walker months before that movie came out, but the film only confirmed what we already knew about his talent. It was obvious to me and the rest of the team that Walker had the perfect mix of comedic timing, sweetness, rebelliousness, snark and heroism to embody our hero Percy Jackson.”
According to THR, The series follows a 12-year-old boy (Scobell) who learns that he is a demigod. As he struggles to come to terms with his new supernatural powers, the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his lightning bolt. This causes Percy to trek across America to find it and restore order to Olympus.
Production on the series is set to begin this summer.
