Kim Kardashian Admits Her Kids Know About Kanye West's Instagram Rants

Mom of four Kim Kardashian is opening up about exactly how much her kids know about Kanye West and his Instagram rants. His social media threats against “The Daily Show” host Trevor Noah, comedian D.L. Hughes, and her current boyfriend, Pete Davidson, have been making headlines for weeks and eventually landed the “Donda” rapper a 24-hour Instagram suspension and a ban from the Grammys.

Ye has since faded out of the spotlight to “get help” and has even backed out of his upcoming Coachella performance, leaving The Weeknd to take his place. On Wednesday night, during an ABC special, Kim sat down with Robin Roberts to reveal exactly how much Kim’s four children know about Kanye’s Instagram tirades.

Kim shares four children with ex-husband Kanye West: North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2 ½. Kim said that she was “really open and honest” with the children about their divorce.

“You want to take the high road and sometimes it’s hard,” she explained, saying of Kanye, “I’ve always been a champion of him speaking his truth.

She explained that her younger ones, most likely Chicago and Psalm, “don’t really understand” whereas her older two children, North and Saint, “know what’s going on.”

“You have to just be there for them,” she explained. “No matter what, even in this crazy life that we live, you just have to have a really open dialogue with your children. Kanye and I have had conversations. We have to talk daily for the kids so you know, I hate that it had to play out like that. But when it comes to family, I mean, Kanye and I will always be family.”

“At the end of the day, I just want my kids to be happy and healthy, and think the world of their dad,” she added. “And they do.”

Although she filed for divorce in February 2021, it was not finalized into earlier this year. However, although a judge has declared her legally single, the couple is still working to settle disputes between assets and custody of their children.

The SKIMS founder told Vogue that “for so long, I did what made other people happy and I think, in the last two years, I decided I’m going to make myself happy and that feels really good. And even if that created changes and caused my divorce, I think it’s important to be honest with yourself about what really makes you happy. I’ve chosen myself. I think it’s okay to choose you.”

On Wednesday night’s interview with Robin Roberts, she also opened up a little bit more about her relationship with Pete Davidson. TMZ recently reported that Pete had taken her to his grandparents’ home so that she could spend more time with his family. On Sunday, shortly before the Grammys, the “Saturday Night Live” comedian was photographed driving around Scott Disick’s gated L.A. community in a pink electric MOKE with Penelope Disick and North West, so it looks like Kim is finally allowing Pete to spend time with her kids.

“I am a relationship kind of girl, for sure, and I wouldn't be with someone if I didn't plan on spending a lot of my time with them,” Kim said. “Obviously, I want to take my time, but I'm very happy and very content. And, it's such a good feeling just to be at peace.”

Matriarch Kris Jenner said “Pete’s great” while sister Khloé Kardashian added, “He just makes her laugh and she laughs all the time.” One source previously told PEOPLE that Pete gets along with her family really well.

“Pete still spends a lot of time in Los Angeles with Kim. He is crazy about her and she is very happy that he is around so much,” the source said. “Pete fits right in with Kim's family. They all love him.”
