Weight Loss Influencer Lexi Reed Re-Hospitalized, 'Not Getting Better'

Lexi Reed, a popular weight loss influencer, is back in the hospital with severe leg and stomach pain.

The Blast first reported on the social media personalities’ hospitalization in February.

Earlier this year, Lexi was hospitalized and put on life support after slipping into a coma with a mystery illness.

The 30-year-old from Indiana inspired over a million followers to watch her transform into a different person with a healthy lifestyle. Lexi chronicled her 2-year journey of losing 312 pounds the “natural” way by sticking to a balanced diet and exercising regularly.

Just two weeks ago, Lexi shared with her 1.2million Instagram followers that she was “off of dialysis and port free.”

She added, “When i started my dialysis almost two months ago I was in complete kidney failure to the point they were saying I needed a transplant if they didn't improve. However since my labs showed my kidneys were actually improving the last few times my kidney doctor put my dialysis on hold and ran more labs to make sure my kidney levels stayed in the normal range and told me it was time to stop the dialysis. Today I had my port removed and thankfully it hurt less to remove the port than wearing the port itself. This has been an emotional experience but I'm also so grateful for all this body has done for me despite the good and bad times. I still have a long way to go in this new part of my journey with my health, struggles, and even some unanswered questions - but happy to still be going in the right direction after such a scare this year.”

Sadly, things took a turn for the wrong direction and Lexi is back in the hospital.

On Monday, April 4, she shared that she was back in the hospital after being in pain for two weeks.

Taking to her Instagram story, Lexi wrote, “Not how I wanted to spend my Monday, been in pain the last two weeks with my legs and stomach and it’s not getting better so here we are ?.”

Her husband, Danny, was by her side.

“Unfortunately, here we go again, but as always got Danny. Gonna get some answers. Basically, I’m having really hard knots in my stomach that have been getting worse. My legs are really heavy and they hurt really bad,” she explained in two Instagram Story videos.

She went on to say that her temperature has been over 101 degrees since Thursday. The normal temperature for an adult is anywhere from 97 to 99 degrees Fahrenheit.

Despite the recent health setbacks, Lexi is staying positive and keeping her mind on getting healthy and back in the gym.

She concluded by thanking Danny and her fans, and shared a message of encouragement.

The message read, “Huge shoutout to the people that haven’t felt okay lately but still get up every day and refuse to quit, you got this.”

Lexi originally went to the hospital in January due to her inability to keep any food down.

“A few weeks ago Lexi kept getting sick and couldn’t keep any food down. She then started acting differently so I took her to the hospital where they admitted her into ICU, placed her on a medically induced [coma], on a ventilator, and [told] me that her organs started failing,” Danny wrote. “They said if I waited another day to take her she could have died.”
