Nick Lachey was fresh off the finalization of his divorce from his first wife, Jessica Simpson when he debuted his music video “What’s Left Of Me” in 2006. Vanessa Lachey, whom he met on the set of MTV’s “Total Request Live,” was cast in the video at the time. While filming, sparks ignited between Vanessa and the 98 Degrees’ lead singer, and the clip effectively became the start of their affair.
The couple is now married with three children and served as the host of the hit Netflix reality program “Love Is Blind” in 2020. With the show now getting a spinoff,” The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On,” the longstanding pair recently discussed with its contestants what aided them to move forward in their romance.
Nick And Vanessa Lachey Dated For Five Years
In People‘s exclusive preview for the upcoming love reality show, “The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On,” the pair discussed how they were able to navigate from the courting stage to eventually tying the knot.
“We dated for five years. So I finally said, ‘What are we doing?’. Vanessa said. “I have now moved in with him; I renovated his entire bachelor pad; there was a bar in the pool. I’m like, ‘Whatever you want!’ Now I’m like, ‘Okay, well, I want to put kids in the pool.'”
“I think that’s what put the deal in the coffin.” “On Your Own” crooner added to the conversation
In July 2011, Nick and Vanessa married on Sir Richard Branson’s private island in the British Virgin Islands. A year later, their first child Camden, nine, was born, followed by Brooklyn, seven, in 2015, and Phoenix, five, in 2016.
Nick And Vanessa Lachey Took Some Time Apart But Later Reconciled
Although the pair was profoundly in love during their long dating relationship, they were beset by relationship troubles that led to a separation before they eventually reunited and married.
Vannessa said in the ‘The Ultimatum: Marry Or Move On:” trailer that she and Nick had seen other individuals during their time apart. However, it was only a matter of time before they recognized they wanted to make their relationship work for the long haul.
“We both saw one other person, and we realized that if we got out of our own way, we could be amazing together,” she said to the contestants. “But it took seeing somebody else and me realizing I don’t mind the things that I thought bugged me or were holding me back. I don’t mind all that.”
‘The Ultimatum: Marry Or Move On’
Vanessa and Nick Lachey went on to say that their ideals of wanting to be with each other helped them put their relationship into perspective, and they hope that the participants in the “Love Is Blind” spinoff will be guided by this principle.
“The Ultimatum: Marry Or Move On:” chronicles six couples who are on the cusp of tying the knot. While one spouse is eager to marry and has given their partner an ultimatum, the other is unsure if they are ready for the big step.
The pair will be separated for three weeks so that they can explore a love connection with a different person. They’ll eventually return and choose if they want to marry their first partner or quit their relationship.
