By the 1950s, she rose to become one of the most known actresses in the industry. She started in movies like "How to Marry a Millionaire," "The Seven Year Itch," "Some Like It Hot," and several others.

While her acting abilities weren't as applauded, Monroe went on to become the sex symbol of the era due to her glamorous looks and lifestyle. She also left a string of heartbreaks in her wake, including a rumored affair with President John F. Kennedy. Aged 36, the actress met an unfortunate death written off as suicide via barbiturate overdose.

Netflix recently announced an investigative documentary titled "The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes" about the actress. The trailer was just released and promised a thorough look at the star's life and the circumstances surrounding her death and investigation, including legal testimonies and autopsy reports.

The trailer for the upcoming Netflix documentary, "The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes," was just released and will reveal all the hidden secrets in the life and death of the popular 1950s actress.

The trailer opened with Monroe's popular smile and voice heard saying, "The true things rarely get into circulation; it's usually the false things." Hinting that the actress never really got to tell her entire side of the story. What followed was focused on the reopened case of her death in 1982.

The model was notable for her roles as the comedic "blonde bombshell" character in the 50s and 60s. During that time, Monroe grew to become one of the most known sex symbols and a big part of the sexual revolution of that era.

Monroe appeared in several movies, one of which was "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," in 1953. In this hit movie, the actress endorsed her Hollywood persona as the new "blonde bombshell." However, before reaching her pinnacle of fame, the actress lost her life to a barbiturate overdose at 36.

The Documentary Will Focus On Monroe's Death

A part of the trailer showed a rather unsettling version of the star's "I Wanna Be Loved By You" performance from "Some Like it Hot." The documentary's main focus will be the 1982 investigation of Monroe's death. It will include some unheard tapes of interviews around that time.

The trailer showed footage of the deceased actress alongside President John F. Kennedy and his brother Robert F. Kennedy. Words like communism, FBI, coverup and conspiracy were thrown around, highlighting that the trailer would try to dive deep into the several conspiracies surrounding Monroe's death.

The documentary promised to discover the truth of her death by looking at Monroe's career and the intricacies of her life. This will include her rumored affair with President John F. Kennedy and her long list of broken hearts.

The Netflix Documentary Will Be Released On April 27

"The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes" will also release never before published interviews of people from her inner circle. The documentary was directed by Emma Cooper, with Chris Smith as the executive producer.

The official synopsis read, "For decades, Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe's tragic death spawned conspiracies and rumors, often overshadowing her talent and shrewdness. By piecing together her final weeks, days, and hours through previously unheard recordings of those who knew her best, this feature illuminates more of her glamorous, complicated life and offers a new perspective on that fateful night."

The investigative documentary will likely be a hit due to many conspiracy theories surrounding the actress's death. "The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes" will be available on Netflix on April 27.

Besides the Monroe Netflix documentary, the streaming platform is also putting together a biopic for the actress. The film titled "Blonde" recently secured an NC-17 rating and will have several famous stars on screen and behind the scenes.

Ana de Armas will act as Jeane Mortensen/Monroe in the biopic, with actors like Adrien Brody, Bobby Cannavale, and Julianne Nicholson included. The producers include Brad Pitt, Dede Gardener, Jeremy Kleiner, Scott Robinson, and Tracey London.

The biopic is an adaptation of a novel also titled "Blonde," authored by Joyce Carol Oates. Apparently, it will focus on rather intense subject matters and have a tone "suffused with the dread of horror."
