Sydney Sweeney is mostly popular for her role as Cassie Howard in the hit teen series "Euphoria." Recently, she revealed that she would love Cassie to embrace her more evil side in the show's third season.

Sweeney stars alongside fashion icon, musician, and actress, Zendaya in the series, which is based on an Israeli show with the same title. The second season that returned this year earned more viewers than the first, and in February, HBO renewed it for season 3.

While fans are unsure when the show will return, they can't wait to see if Cassie truly embraces her darker side in the next season and how.

Sweeney opened up to Variety about how she felt about her Cassie character on "Euphoria" at the Canneseries TV Festival. When asked about what she'd love to happen in season 3, Sweeney admitted that she would want to explore the dark, serious and evil side of Cassie because she loved playing "complex" characters with "multiple layers."

She noted that she loved characters that would "make people think and make [her] think. And make people wonder if they're evil or good, and pure or not."

Referring to a scene in the show, Sweeney said, "There was a bit of Cassie that I got to play with when she started saying that she's crazier than Maddy in a scene with Nate. And she kind of got a little more evil and dark and serious and not so frantic. I would love to play with more of that streak within herself."

The show has seen Cassie struggle with herself in several ways. In the second season, she began a toxic affair with her best friend's ex, Nate (played by Jacob Elordi). This led to the end of her friendship with her best friend, Maddie (played by Alexa Demie), and her having a breakdown.

Fans believe that season 3 would be better for her, and she'd probably get everything she wants. They suspect this since she lost almost everything at the end of season 2. However, they don't think the "Euphoria" crew isn't done with her yet.

Fans also believe that she could reconcile with Maddie in the next season and rebuild her relationship with her mom and sister. Fans can't wait for Sweeney to dive deeper into her character and bring out the best version of Cassie yet.

Sweeney hasn't only proven her superb acting skills to fans in the HBO show but in several other ones. She starred in "The White Lotus," another HBO show, and will also star in other films, including "Madame Web," a Sony film from the Spider-Man universe.

Euphoria remains a very popular show currently, and fans believe that it serves as a great platform for Sweeney to thrive in the entertainment industry in the future. They also believe that Cassie has the potential to be much more in the coming season.

Rumors around the show reveal that Zendaya may leave after the third season, which may give Cassie a wider stage and the chance for her character to grow even more on the show.

Sweeney gave details about her preparation with co-star Dakota Johnson in the anticipated Spider-Man spinoff. Even though their most recent release, "Morbius," was received poorly, fans hope that this Sony film will be much better.

Sweeney told Variety that in preparation, she had read a lot of comics to understand her character better. She also revealed to fans that she had been taking mixed martial arts classes since her teenage years, and while this could be good for other future projects, it could also be helpful for her role in "Madame Web."

In Sweeney's words, "I've been ordering a bunch of comic books. There's a lot to learn. I've always been a really big fan of all of the Marvel and Sony Universe movies. I've grown up watching them all and I've been engulfed in the entire world my entire life, so being able to be a part of that is such an incredible, incredible thing."
