Actor Jason Alexander is paying tribute to the late Estelle Harris, who recently passed away at the age of 93.

The actress, who was probably best known for playing George Costanza’s (Jason Alexander) mother Estelle Costanza on NBC’s sitcom “Seinfeld,” passed away on Saturday night of natural causes in Palm Desert, California, just two days shy of her 94th birthday on April 4.

She had been born on April 4, 1928. Her son, Glen Harris told Deadline, “It is with the greatest remorse and sadness to announce that Estelle Harris has passed on this evening at 6:25 pm. Her kindness, passion, sensitivity, humor, empathy, and love were practically unrivaled, and she will be terribly missed by all those who knew her.”

Shortly after her passing, Alexander took to Twitter to pay his respects to his late TV mother.

Jason Alexander Wishes 'Serenity Now & Always' After Estelle Harris' Passing

On April 3, shortly after her death was announced, Jason Alexander tweeted, “One of my favorite people has passed - my tv mama, Estelle Harris. The joy of playing with her and relishing her glorious laughter was a treat. I adore you, Estelle. Love to your family. Serenity now and always. #RIPEstelleHarris”

Harris appeared as Mrs. Costanza on 27 episodes of “Seinfeld” from 1992 to 1998. She first appeared in “The Contest” when she ends up in the hospital after she walks in on George losing the contest.

And here’s a fun fact for “Seinfeld” fans: the character was named Estelle even before Harris landed the part. Some things were simply meant to be!
