We are now three episodes into season four of “Temptation Island,” and the girls are letting their feelings for their boyfriends go far, far away.
On the other hand, the guys seem to be settling into their emotions more than they expected or cared to do.
A complete 180 from previous seasons.
Episode three titled, “Taste of Independence,” should’ve been titled, “Iris has got a brand new bag!”
Iris Is New & Improved Without Luke
In case you don’t get the musical reference, it was a nod to James Brown’s song, “Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag.”
The saying basically means, “Something different is motivating me. I’m doing something different.”
Iris Jardiel is finally discovering that she needs to find her independence and learn to be happy on her own.
During a confessional she said, “I’ve never learned to be happy on my own, and that’s a problem. It’s up to me to love myself and feel confident.”
Iris admitted that she’s never been on her own. She’s been in relationships since high school without ever taking a moment to be by herself.
Luke Stunted Iris’ Independence
“It’s not healthy for me to hop from one relationship to the next,” Iris explained.
In the episode, viewers finally get to see Iris let her guard down and get in touch with her inner-party girl.
Our sources close to production on “Temptation Island” tell us that Iris has reached a turning point in her self-confidence.
She no longer has Luke Wechselberger hanging in the background to judge her and stop her from having fun.
They tell us Luke’s jealousy issues put a massive burden on Iris’ ability to be herself and let her hair down.
Speaking of letting her hair down, this episode saw Iris fully embrace her newfound freedom and a (temporary) single lady.
During the girls villa Field Day, which took place at night, Irish and Ash shared a wet and wild kiss on the lips in the pool.
It’s A Girl-On-Girl Kind Of Night!
Then when things were taken inside the villa for shots, because OBVIOUSLY, Ashley Rodriguez gave Iris a lap dance AND a kiss on the lips.
In addition to connecting with her gal-pals, Iris has been forming a strong emotional connection with George Maxey.
However, with the discovery of her independence, Iris decides to bring things with George to a halt given she has not allowed herself to breath on her own, so to speak.
On the other side of the island, Iris’ other half, Luke is connecting with Emily Burkun.
“I have massive family issues in the mental health department. It’s just devastating,” Luke admits. “I feel like I’ve been dealt a really crappy deck of cards in the emotion department.”
This is a main reason Iris and Luke came to “Temptation Island,” to work on connecting with his emotions.
Being emotionally shut off is a big gripe Iris has spoken about as well as Luke.
However, for Luke, it’s more of Iris’ nagging and put downs that he has gripes with.
During his second date, Luke admits to Emily that he feels beaten down by Iris when she’s constantly bringing up the past.
